Booked a 2 night stay to visit family.
We were greeted at check in by the duty manager who was quick, efficient and seemed genuinely interested in our reason for staying.
We were allocated a room on the 5th floor overlooking the V&A museum. Our room was spacious and clean with a 6ft bed comprising of 2 separate 3ft mattresses. This is always a bonus as there is then less movement disturbance from your partner.
Bedding was clean and soft and pillows comfortable.
The bathroom had a walk in shower as well as separate bath tub and a nice range of complimentary toiletries.
Despite being next to the busy Tay Road Bridge and sleeping with the window open, the room was very quiet.
We didn’t use the restaurant or leisure facilities during our stay but we did have a drink at the bar. Both nights the hotel had large functions happening but we weren’t impacted by this and found staff to be attentive and efficient.
Car parking is chargeable at £6.50 per day and there was plenty of space available.
The city centre is a pleasant 10 minute walk along the waterfront.
Overall a surprisingly nice stay. Our last stop here was post Covid and memory suggests it was a little tired and dated then. Not the case this time.
As with any Apex stay we got our free duck. A fabulous Dundee/Beano inspired “Splasher, friend to Dennis the Menace.

Great stay at Apex City Quay Dundee. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Loved my work trip so much, I’m heading back for a family weekend in a couple of weeks.

Amazing location, stuff very friendly and helpful!People staying at hotel -not so much !We were told to leave swimming pool with our 6 yo because we just taking space as don’t swim-rude !Dinner were outstanding ,love it -breakfast not so much ,luckily the continental breakfast was still there ,so we swap .Rooms are spacious enough, although looks better in pic rather then what we got .Not too sure -probably just because was a family room instead of apartment?Anyway it’s alright place to stay for a wee break !

Hotel stuff lovely, Spa pool Area Pretty nice our kids loved it. We booked a family room for 3 nights paying £556 without breakfast! Unfortunately for us the room was too small, beds too small, carpet very stained. Window covered in seagulls poo. I know that part couldn’t be helped, but still wasn’t very nice to look at.
I say all of this to say that it wasn’t Worth the price we paid.

Bright, modern and clean hotel, located within walking distance of the station and the main shopping area. Everything is new and well-maintained! Had a twin room with bath in bathroom (always a plus). Pillows and bedding all fresh, plus tv with tons of channels.
Spa area also great but pool was hectic with kids (Easter hol), so do check term dates!!)
Plenty of breakfast choices, thought it is a bit of a pricey extra and I think they could put the price down a bit for what’s on offer.
All in all, recommend!!

The hotel was located in an area with easy access to shopping and restaurants. At first glance from the outside the hotel looks a little dated, however once inside it looks clean and modern, particularly the bar and restaurant areas.
The family room we had was of a good size on the third floor, with two comfortable double beds.
There was a large tv which unlike a lot of hotels nowadays allowed me to use my amazon firestick to get Netflix etc.
The only downside to the entire stay were the sink and showers not draining away.
I reported the sink pretty much as soon as we arrived and discovered it was draining very slowly, asking if someone could come and sort it. Unfortunately by the time we left the next day nobody had been to the room to do so which was very disappointing.
I do have to mention the breakfast and the staff in the restaurant, both of which were excellent.

Overall... hotel is our happy place. 2-3 little niggles. Noise from function that was on.. room right above function room, kids playing in corridor and unfortunately a guest, somewhere, smoking weed in their room so Smell in corridor was disgusting.
Apart from that.. cleanliness, service, comfort and food are all 10/10.

We upgraded to a junior suite. It was a lovely room, beautiful bathroom. Bed was a bit lumpy but apart from that it was a comfy room.
Hot tub not working in the spa. Charged £5 for parking
