We wanted a city centre hotel to meet family and this ticked the boxes. Always a friendly place and any issues are dealt with quickly.
The swimming pool is a bonus for a quick relax.

Great stay. Room was comfortable. Staff were really friendly. Bar staff were excellent with kids.
1 bit of feedback. Temperature in the pool and changing were far to hot

Room was old, carpet was filthy, skink tap not fixed into the wall, buttons on shower mixer missing, fold out bed extremely uncomfortable. The coffee machine was grubby, looked like it had never been cleaned. The swimming pool area needed updating, the changing rooms filthy and old with some lockers missing lock. The kids play area next to the bar was locked. Some of the staff very kind and cheerful made us feel extremely welcome. But ultimately we won’t be staying here again, and to me honest we stayed in a Novatel in Leeds and that was very dated too, it has joined the no go list along with Premier Inn and Travelodge.

This hotel was terrible in every way. Upon checking in my friend and I were told that the room we booked was only suitable for an adult and a child. When booking the reservation this was not said but at check in they said the maximum age of someone who can stay in the pull out couch was 12 years old. I checked off 2 adults on the reservation so surely they should’ve said something about this?
Once getting into the room just to see what the situation was, the pullout couch mattress was stained and the mattress cover was dirty. Not too mention there weren’t even any sheets we could use if we had wanted to sleep on it. As said above the bed was very small even for me so this wasn’t going to work.
Before leaving to find another hotel, my friend decided to use the shower and found hair inside of the bathtub (see photo).
After all of this I reached out to hotels.com and notified them of this experience to which they said they’d reach out to the hotel. To no avail, Novotel said there was no way they were going to issue any refund, partial or full after this.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay at a Novotel property at all costs. I am out $750 for a hotel I didn’t spend more than 30 minutes in even though Novotel could’ve booked it for the following night and issued a partial refund. Stay away from Novotel hotels.

A tired hotel in need of investment, redecoration and improved room facilities (e.g. better power socket locations and USB charge points).
Was re-roomed due to extractor fan issue in shower room - exactly the same issue encountered in new room - was fobbed off by desk staff over this. There was zero extraction as tested by tissue paper and verified by a helpful member of staff. Laughably small bath tub - over-tub shower was acceptable.
Replacement room had hair ball on toilet floor, and a loose front plate on 240V outlet socket - gap large enough for a child to put finger into socket. Reported to desk staff - no enthusiasm from them to escalate or re-room. Felt like they knew that the hotel was shabby.
Fitness centre was basic but functional - lacked equipment wipedown provision - enforcing the sense of a grubby hotel. Many hand sanitiser dispensers in hotel were empty of sanitiser.
Breakfast buffet was basic - bland tasteless orange juice from machine, rock hard pancakes. Ordered poached eggs for them to turn up with foreign object on plate.
Complained to desk staff and asked for manager to be informed of issues - but this was not followed up.
A very disappointing experience. The high prices charged are a joke - do yourself a favour and stay at the much nicer Mercure next door - the Novotel is way overpriced for the experience.

Check in process was fine. Parking was ok, very secure, but not very user friendly.
Our car got hit my another whilst there due to the shape of the car park.
Breakfast content was good, how breakfast was warm, not hot as I would expect.
Adult double bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
Sofa bed for child was excellent.

Booked last minute a family room. Requested the sofa bed to be made up. When we arrived at 7.30pm it wasn't, staff arrived promptly as my young child needed to get to bed. Booked this hotel as it had a pool we could use only to be told in the morning when we rang for a slot that it was being closed due to maintenance. Was also given a discount voucher for the off site parking which didn't work so we ended up paying full price.

Stayed one night in family room. Every thing was as advertised with the foldout sofa made up. Hotel staff were very helpful in getting a left EarPod back to me as well.
