It seemed like a great place- big enough for a family of five comfortably! The only downside was the amount of bachelorette parties or “hen” party’s. This hotel and the area seemed very accommodating to these type of hotel goers rather than families. There was simply too much noise both in and outside the hotel from these parties for our family to be comfortable.

It's in the best spot around all next to shops and restaurants the hotel it's self is getting a bit worn down from partying, my biggest moan is we missed breakfast our fault but the staff said theirs some left if you want to pay so we did £45 sat down for some food what was left soon as we sat down the same staff took all the drinks away and food so I had to say you've literally just took our money and then taken the drinks away I said please could you get both my kids an orange juice and they was very reluctant to do so but did in the end when I said you've literally just taken our money !

We were a family group of 4 sharing a room. (Adults) The hotel has wow factors as soon as you enter the building. You do notice out in the lift/stair area it needs a little touch up, but what do you expect from such an old building. We had to move rooms due to the 1st floor tvs not working, but each room spacious, clean and beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very posh to with the huge jacuzzi bath. We will be back, recommending it to anyone that asks.

We booked an overnight stay in what was the hottest day of the year and was given a really nice family room, Later we had issues with the air-con and the staff at the Hotel went above and beyond to try and fix the issue, when it couldn’t be fixed they swapped out room with no issues. The room was large well equipped for for adults, very comfortable and had a jacuzzi bath and an extra shower, the only down side is the roof top bar was not in use as being refurbished.

Really lovely hotel with a large, comfortable room.first night was great however we had a party next door on the second night which was so loud my children were singing along to the music at 11:00 at night-not the hotel’s fault though. Great breakfast and staff are lovely!

Read the negative reviews and can understand some of them, we went as a group of lads to enjoy the night life, absolutely perfect hotel for it, would I take my children and expect quiet and peace, definitely not, really pleased with the hotel and room for the price we paid, 100% would go again

We stayed here a lot over the years. We will NEVER stay here again. Upon checking in we had to pay a £50 deposit PER PERSON for the 4 of us. We are a family, not a stag party or a bunch of thugs. This was the last night of our holidays and it was the only money we had left. So we couldn't have a meal out, or buy anything in Liverpool. Deposit was charged immediately but won't be refunded for a week.!! What a disgrace. Never ever will we stay here again. Having to pay this deposit ruined the end of our well earned holiday. Disgusted.

I'm so gutted. We tried to check in and we got treated terribly. We booked the room at 11.55pm and got told we couldn't check in after 10pm?! We got told to leave even though we were very clear that we had nowhere else to to go. So so disappointed, gutted beyond belief. I was embarrassed in front of my wife and her cousin. It was so so bad! There was nothing in the t's c's about the latest we could check in. No mercy, no understanding. Computer said no so it was out on the street. We're talking family who you see every 4 years here. It was disgraceful and shameful. The people that are working for you do not deserve the name of Shankly on their shirts. He would be disgusted if he saw the way we were treated.

The hotel lobby was cool, but my hotel was dirty. The bed linen had massive coffee stains on it, when I moved the bed to get to the plug sockets it was absolutely filthy. There was a big unidentified tablet there. It was disgusting. There was also no water in the room, and the aircon could not be turned off or the temperature changed. I think the Shankly family are probably embarrassed to be associated with thos hotel.
