Overview

The Victoria Hotel is a family-run hotel in Canterbury that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Families appreciate the spacious rooms, excellent food (including a delicious cooked-to-order full English breakfast and restaurant meals), and the friendly, helpful staff who go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The hotel also benefits from free on-site parking, a convenient location (a short walk from the city centre), and added extras such as biscuits and hot chocolate in the rooms. While the hotel is a bit older, with narrow corridors and no lift, this is more than compensated for by the exceptional service and charming atmosphere.

This Property was family run and most definitely had the personal touch I was looking for. Staff were amazing and couldn't do enough to make our stay happy and welcoming. Food was great and service was very professional. Nothing was to much to make our stay comfortable. Room was clean and accommodating for our needs. All in all fantastic for the money.

An absolute delight to have stumbled across this " gem in the crown of Canterbury " A last minute booking. Food was amazing. family run business with friendly, helpful staff. A brisk 20 minute walk into the town with two different routes.Parking was free, with ample spaces for around 50 vehicles. Our stay was for 3 nights and included free breakfast. Couldn't have asked for any more from our short break. Love to return in the summer.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and attentive, even offering to look after our baby so that I could eat my dinner. The food (we ate both an evening meal and breakfast) was very good and a good price. The hotel is quite old so doorways and corridors are narrow and there isn’t a lift, which made our access to the first floor tricky with a push chair - next time we will be sure to ask for a ground floor room. The room was large, clean and tidy. There was a strange collection of flies in the corridor leading from reception to the rooms, which wasn’t the best first impression and not pleasant to walk through when emptying the car and accessing the rest of the hotel. There wasn’t anything obvious that they were attracted to and all other areas were clean so we wrote it off as a strange one-off! Biscuits and hot chocolate sachets as well as the usual tea and coffee were a great addition in the rooms too! On site parking was a huge benefit and there was plenty of space. We would stay here again.

There was absolutely nothing that we could fault about this hotel. It's a family run business and it's very evident that they care about their guests, staff, property and reputation. The room was spacious and pristine. The property has a restaurant and bar. The food, both at breakfast and when we chose to patronise the restaurant was of the highest quality...no skimping and cooked and presented to perfection. There were so many little extras/courtesies: hot chocolate, biscuits, toiletries, a fan in the room; breakfast bars, smoked salmon, wide choice at breakfast; free parking; extremely friendly, polite, caring and helpful staff. Our whole stay completely exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect for visiting Canterbury...only a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of town. Special mention to Rosaria, Angela and Carly, although all staff members worked extremely hard, especially in managing the 4 sittings in the restaurant for Father's Day. We'd love to return some day. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

The hotel is situated on the approach road to Canterbury about 1 mile from the centre. This stay was just a base due to personal family circumstances. I had no complaints the on site restaurant was excellent with no issues. The on site parking was a bonus. The room's were clean and well looked after. I would book again.

A lovely two nights at the Victoria Hotel. Overall, very good value for money, free parking and a 15 minute walk into the city centre. Our family were staying in two rooms. One was excellent, one was good. The carvery restaurant is good, breakfast is excellent, a wide choice and full English cooked to order. Service was excellent, both check in and at other times. Very friendly staff. Thanks for a lovely short break.
