Room was clean. Very comfortable bed and lovely walk in shower. However, we needed to eat after our long journey and the restaurant was overrun with young children from a football club awards night. The kids were completely running amok, screaming, shouting, running up and down corridors and even at 11.45pm they were still there. Parents oblivious to the really poor behaviour as were hotel staff. We couldn’t use the restaurant or even get a drink because of it. So strange that the hotel allowed hotel guests to be so inconvenienced in this way

Broken fan and light not working in bathroom, room not ready at check in other than a couple of niggles a comfy stay on the whole. We like these hotels because my adult kids love the gym!

I've stayed at the village many a time, and never had any issue however on this occasion it was well below the usual standard they provide. I stayed for 8 nights with my wife and 6 month old child, the first 3 nights my child could not stay as they had not provided a cot as requested. On Christmas eve the door staff would not let me into the hotel despite me showing him my room key it was only after staff came over they let me in. By the 5th night we decided not to let our child stay in the room as our room was not cleaned by housekeeping, on the 6th day it was finally cleaned. we had no fresh towels and our bins were over flowing with nappy sacks for, we mentioned this twice to the reception team on our 6th night our room was finally cleaned and bins emptied by house keeping. It didn't seem like the place it used to be. My partner decided to keep our child away from the hotel due to this. on the Thursday night there was alot of police activity and drunken youngsters at the property which was quite off putting whilst trying to eat a meal Really disappointed on this occasion as we love the hotel and its locality for visitung family.

We have been staying with The Village in Ashton since it opened; having family near by. Rooms are starting to become a bit worn, bashed furniture & Velcro bed decor hanging off. Air conditioning cover not straight There still is nothing in its league nearby the nearest being a well known 'budget' hotel - popular with stag & hen do's Comfortable sleep, nice included breakfast, shower not very powerful but inclusive toiletries. Plenty of parking. Gym & Pool for extra ££ We will stay here again due to convenient location, I would like to see the rooms 'upgraded' though

Reached the hotel late evening on check-in date as family room was booked and paid for in advance for 2 nights stay. upon arrival, the automated check-in will not allow us to check-in so had to wait for someone to come out to help. after 10-15mins someone came out to help and pretended that they could not find the boking on system until I showed them the booking and payment confirmation on email sent to my mobile. They made me wait for another 15mins and handed in the keys to room. we tool the lift to the room and when opened the room, it was not a family room and had two single beds without any bedsheets on them and was filthy on the floor and bathroom looked like has not been cleaned for some time. went down to reception to complain and was told that it is the only last room available at the hotel. felt humiliated as they just tried their luck by offering the filthy room instead of telling us that they have sold our paid for room to someone else and to make the matter worse i was told that there is nothing much they can do at that point. I have the pictures and video of the room they checked us into though we dint stay there and left.

Having stayed at the village Urbans in blackpool, hyde and bury in the last 12 months we thought we was going to be in for an excellent stay based on the online photos and room features when coming to book this hotel as it looked far more new and modern than the previous village urbans we have stopped at. Hotel is positioned very close to M60 motorway and on the first night you could here the passing cars every now and again which doesn't help if your not a good sleeper. The TV in room 419 needs replacing as the picture quality is very poor and also the docking station is broke and doesn't work. On our 2nd nights stay we got back to our room around 11.20pm and after a few drinks ourselves we then struggled to get asleep because of the loud noise coming from the marque at the end of the hotel, you could clearly hear every song being played in full and I would give this hotel serious consideration if planning on booking a room and taking your kids along. As all the other village Urbans the health and leisure facilities are top class and this is what makes the village Urban hotels good to stay at. Breakfast was very nice and offered a wide range of options, and food in victory pub on our first night was great, would strongly recommend the burger for a £1 on Fridays. Hotel is very close to a metro stop offering direct trams into manchester every 12 minutes. Tram takes approx 27 minutes and cost of return is £3.80. You can also find a wide range of restaurants on the oppos

Staff were friendly and the hotel was generally nice. Had an issue with the lights in the room flickering, after telling front desk a staff member quickly came to the room to fix them, however their only solution was to turn the dimmer switch to a specific setting, even with this the lights would still flicker every now and again, and the bathroom continued to flicker no matter what. The window in the room didn’t shut all the way so we could always hear people outside. The room also has a musty almost cigarette like smell, maybe a previous guest had covered the detector and smoked in there? Luckily we didn’t spend much time in our room so it wasn’t a huge deal for us, but might be for others. The lounge area and bar were very comfortable with plenty of seating and massive tvs, great for wasting time waiting on other family members. A good stay overall, just expected more from a Village hotel in terms of the room condition
