Best Western Leigh Park Hotel

We had a family get together to celebrate my mum’s 80th birthday so there were 12 of us staying and we pre ordered our dinner for the Saturday evening. The staff were lovely - very helpful and friendly and were quick to upgrade my sister and her husband when they couldn’t remain in their room because of an unpleasant smell. We were however disappointed on a number of fronts. The hotel is looking quite tired especially the standard bedrooms though our beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms have been updated so are quite nice with lovely walk in showers in some rooms. The dinner was good in parts (starters) but the mains were variable ie the duck was over cooked and my brother-in-law’s peppercorn sauce was completely overloaded with peppercorns, so much so he couldn’t eat most of his meal. In fairness the staff tried their best and brought out a new batch of sauces and replaced the duck for one of our party and then took the cost of the sauces and a couple of the desserts off the bill - I believe they were short staffed that evening which can’t have helped. But combined with a disappointing breakfast (overcooked scrambled eggs, waiting times for sausages, beans and bacon) it just came up short. Having said all of that my mum loved the weekend and the grounds behind the hotel are lovely plus the short trip into Bradford on Avon is well worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our night in this beautiful hotel. Lovely room, easy access for us and a great view over westbury white horse . Breakfast was great . If we could of prolonged our stay, we would. Already recommended to family and would stay again in a heartbeat .

Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows - large bathroom with walk in shower so accommodation was excellent. The grounds and views at the rear of the property were a highlight - great for an evening drink. Breakfasts were good, although on first couple of days tea was rather weak. Evening meals decent enough and similar to pub prices (chips were V.good). Limited menu if you're staying more than a couple of days you'll probably need to consider alternatives. Icing on the cake was the family of hedgehogs which appeared one evening from the bushes on the patio. I'd say far better than review scores would suggest. We stayed during the heatwave and as I suspected from the age of the building air conditioning was not available in the rooms - I took the precaution of packing the fan we use at home - glad we did. I'd stay again if in the area we were very satisfied with our choice.
