Hotel Royal

We spent 6 nights in hotel Royal before we decided to move out despite having prepaid a junior suite which was non-refundable. We initially had an executive room, which was OK. A bit cramped for 3. Despite being on the 5th floor the is considerable noise from Rue Lausanne. After 2 nights we were moved to a junior suite in another unrenovated part of the hotel. Here the safe did not work, neither did the coffee machine and a sink was clogged. The coffee machine was replaced, the other issues were unresolved. We had an unpleasant night as the bed was old and lumpy. After complaining at the front desk we were moved to the newer part. Housekeeping was sketchy. We found medicine in a niche near the head of the bed, parts of a childrens drawing a a bottle cap on the floor. We had 3 nights in this room and had to ask for housekeeping to empty bins, replenish coffee/tea and make beds. Every day. Front desk was marginally helpful, borderline arrogant with the exception of the 2 doormen mr. Joao and mr. Fikret who were a pleasure. Though well situated, there are better, more comfortable and less expensive choices in Geneva than Hotel Royal.

Very nice stay with family. Sauna facilities and ice machine a plus for Ice bath during a heat wave. Especially nice reception.

We stayed for 2 nights in a family suite room, which was very spacious. The location of the hotel is great- the tram stops right outside the hotel and gets you to old town in 2 stops. The breakfast was also very good with lots of good options. Highly recommend and would consider staying here again on the next trip.

We had a junior suite with views of Mont Blanc, had a fridge, dining table & bathrobes. The hotel is close to the train station with tram and bus stop right outside. Travel is free around the city when you have checked in so I wouldn’t pay for train from the airport again. The lake is 5 mins walk away and you can get a free water taxi across the lake to the old town. Staff were very friendly. We paid for breakfast as it was NY but there are lots of places to eat / buy food the area.

The hotel is mirrored to an old Victorian house. It is located close to train which was a plus for my family. Would stay again.

Great location - try avoid the rooms facing the main road though - cars and HGV’s pass by all night. Nice hotel for our family as we passed through Geneva!

The staff and service were exceptional and food from Let Bistro was delicious. The hotel itself is a bit dated. My room was not clean, there were marks on my duvet, dusty carpets. The kettle cord was so short, I had to plug it in on the floor. Not the greatest area for a mother and child overnight stay, however we walked to nearby parks and Lake.

Very confortable hotel, we enjoyed our family staying, the environment is good!

The property is located in downtown Geneva close to the lake which is super convenient. It is also very close to the main train station. The lobby is very tastefully decorated and so are the rooms (we had a junior suite). However the air conditioning needs an overhaul. When it worked it was not very cool, and we had the misfortune of it going out on us in the middle of the night. Maintenance fixed it the following day...but when it works it does a marginal job of cooling down the room. The fron desk staff is very courteous.

When we are arrived there is no bell boy,you have to unload your luggage with 2 little kids,no designated parking for hotel,no parking for hotel I was driving 20 minutes to find parking spot,while I was driving to find parking spot my wife trying to check in but very rude and unprofessional reception women,we had room without air conditioning,complain to front desk but they said everything is fine nothing wrong with the AC,after a 3 front desk person came to room and see the real problem than they change the room,I don’t recommend anyone to this hotel
