We loved this hotel and would’ve stayed longer if it had had availability. Room was perfect for a small family with clean bathroom, fridge and comfy beds but the highlight was our own balcony with a view of the Eiger. We spent hours there in the late afternoon just staring at the mountain. The hotel is up the hill a bit from the main action in Grindelwald but it’s completely walkable (even with a 7 year old). And very very quiet. Parking on site.

This property was quintessential Swiss; homey, clean, warm & helpful family owned staff! We are going to recommend this hotel to our friends and family and would not consider anywhere else if we come back!

Wonderful family run hotel with friendly helpful staff I was travelling on my own to ski. My skis were taken from the storeroom presumably by mistake. The staff were extremely helpful in trying to relocate them for me. Food was excellent.

I love the hotel, especially the view from terrace :) My family stayed 3nights and enjoyed Grindelwald enough thanks to the hotel.

I would highly recommend Hotel Alpenhof to just about anyone. It's comfortable, lovely, so close to the Grindelwald train station, and tended to by fantastic owners and staff. The views are stunning, the food never disappointed, and it's a great place to take a family. We couldn't hear any noise from the other guest rooms. It was sometimes uncomfortably warm in the building, but you can control the heat in your room. We have zero regrets. (It's truly only if you have limited mobility and intend to go anywhere on foot that I'd suggest reconsidering - the hill it's on is extremely steep.)

The hotel has a great location and has a great view of the mountains. However, you may need to walk uphill for 5 min if you don’t have a car. It may be important if you travel with kids or and elderly one. I think they provide a shuttle but am not sure. very friendly staff.we enjoyed our 3 days stay there.

One of the best stays of the whole trip. Small family run hotel with great staff. The views from the balcony were utterly amazing. They have very reasonably priced self service washing facilities too.
