Poor service. Had to ask 4 times for an extra bed for a kid and still they managed to forget about it!
Don’t know why they send the pre check in letter (they just don’t use it), so your check in process takes plenty of time and you have to remind about the requested extras.

Formerly Ritz-Carlton, magnificent heritage building, amazing interior, Michelin mentioned restaurant attached, Ritz styled dressed staff..but when the rubber meets the road, rather disappointing- room is too small to be 5-star GL, no space to spread out my laptop and 3 cellphones for my family, very few charging outlets (had to unplug the floor lamp), no espresso/coffee machine (can you imagine) and no coffee service in the morning, bathrobe is so heavy it feels like wearing a tactical suit. Compared to Ritz in Vienna and St. Regis in Florence (formerly Ritz also), I would rate this a 6 out of 10, at best.

Stayed in the Family suite to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday for 4 nights while staying in Barcelona. The hotel was nice, the rooms were large and clean. My reasons for not being able to give a 5 star review, the breakfast restaurant in the morning is in a tent outside which is cold, they have space heaters but for the amount of money for the hotel and the 35 Euros a person for breakfast no one should be cold eating breakfast. Also we asked the front desk for a small fridge or microwave for our room for my toddlers milk and they did not have any. I have stayed in way less nicer hotels and nicer ones and all have no problem bringing a microwave or already have a small fridge for use. Also when I asked them to come have someone take the baby crib out because we didn’t need it and it was in the way, no one ever came. So we ended up taking it out ourselves and putting it in the hallway. For a 5 star expensive hotel, I expect those things to be taken care of. So I don’t think its worth the 5 stars, there are better 5 star hotels we have stayed at.

My family and I stayed for a weekend break.
The hotel is visually stunning and rich in history, and the service is absolutely first class.
We will be back!

The hotel is not 5 star.
The most annoying thing is that all the suites have no view and are very dark. Only classic rooms with a view. We had a superior suite, which was given to us with a surcharge of 400€ instead of a junior suite, which was as dark as a cellar. But there was no view, it was dark. The bathroom in all the photos provided by the hotel is bright. We also had a dark bathroom, with bypass tiles. And worst of all, the water pressure in the shower is very poor. It was impossible to properly wash my hair. For a 5 star hotel, I think this is unthinkable. Even for the very old. We said it was a problem with the shower but the hotel couldn't fix it.
The hair dryer in the room is very poor quality and old.
Iron and board on request.
The decoration of the room itself was also dark and did not match the photo on the website.
Breakfast costs $35 per person. The breakfast is very limited. We were with a child and no porridge is offered for breakfast.
Artificial flowers in the lobby. There are practically no fresh flowers, only a small vase is brought to the room with the order of food. There are no fresh flowers in the lobby, which is strange for a hotel of this level.
In the garden, where breakfast is sprinkled, the fountain does not work and looks abandoned and not well maintained.
I haven’t finished my breakfast yet, and a technical person has already come to move tables and remove mattresses from chairs - they don’t have a concept that a

Great historic hotel in central Barcelona. Very clean and spacious junior suite. All amenities are great. Staffs are professional and attentive.
Only one comment, I did not receive VIP access benefit upon check in (no room upgrade). Early check-in is honored upon request.

We just came back from our vaccation in Barcelona. We were 11 family member's, and stayed at El Palace Barcelona. We had wonderful experience. Location of hotel is very good, it is centrally located. Rooms are nice and spacious, staff is courteous, and willing to do every thing to help. Best part was the breakfast, with lots of choices. House keeping kept the rooms tidy by cleaning it twice a day. In nutshell, we liked the hotel and will go back again.
I was little upset on day one, we traveled, overnight from USA and reached hotel at 10 am. We were told that they will call us when room is ready. We were extremely tired, and waited for 5 hours in the lobby, no one called us, we had to go to reception at 3pm, and they gave us the keys.
Inspite of this experience , we would still give 5 stars to the property.
