Johannesburg Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch

Excellent location in the heart of Melrose Arch with access to loads of restaurants, coffee shops and stores. Friendly personnel who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Soft comfy beds and spacious clean rooms. What more could you ask for, for a short family getaway?

Excellent hotel in a great area. Only spent one night before traveling back home following our (family of 4) South African safari trip. Everything at the hotel was top notch. Safe location to walk around with plenty restaurant options just a short walk away. All of the staff we encountered were extremely welcoming. Would definitely stay at the Marriott Melrose Arch when visiting again!

Check-in was fast and efficient. Most of the reception staff were warm and friendly during our stay. Cleaning services never got the number of guests vs towels required correct from arrival through to check-out. Breakfast was awesome and staff ensured prompt refills and service. Covid19 protocols were adhered to and the requests were simple and non-intrusive. My kids loved the pool and clean fresh towels were always available when we made use of the service. The valet parking was advertised incorrectly on Hotels.com and I was presented a bill which was about 4x the advertised. This was then corrected to my satisfaction by the deputy manager after a lengthy unsuccessful discussion with a receptionist that was not very understanding of my perspective... My suggestion would be to have the lady who attended my check out, trained better for future guest encounters of a similar kind. Overall it was a good experience. There are gaps that would need to be adressed to make up for a more impactful experience of a 4* establishment.
