Nice, comfortable hotel right in the heart of a busy area with excellent restaurants and shopping. The staff were very professional and helpful—with us and every guest I saw approach someone for assistance. The breakfast was fantastic—definitely of higher quality and variety than hotels in the US. We would definitely stay at Hotel da Baxia again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Hotel is centrally located with great dining and shopping options as soon as you step out. We had the family room which consisted of a 2 room suite. Very well appointed and perfect for our family of 5. Rooms were quiet despite the hotel being located in a very busy area. Front desk staff were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was fabulous as was the hotel bar. We didn’t have a chance to dine at the hotel restaurant but it appeared very busy. Only gripe was the the intermittent rattling of the air conditioning in one of our rooms and the lukewarm water temperature of the shower.

This hotel is excellent. We had two connecting rooms as we traveled with kids (aged 12, 10, 4). It is located right in the center of downtown. Staff was nice as well. Breakfast was good.

The staff was exceedingly helpful to our family and my disabled daughter. Not only did Iberia Airlines delay our luggage but they also delayed my daughters mobility device which would severely hinder our activities. The Hotel da Baixa happened to have a spare wheelchair which saved the day. Most things we wanted to do were walkable and, if not, easy to get to. If you want to stay in the center of town, this is a great place to stay.
