Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen

The rooms were nice but my only complaint is that the master light switch turned off too many lights and electrical outlets and it didn't allow for more granular electrical and lighting control. This made it really hard to charge my family's USB devices while i am asleep or out for the day. Otherwise the stay and rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was nice but i wish they had different stuff everyday and offer more non-diary options in the hot food portion of the buffet.

Stayed there for 5 sleepless nights. View of most rooms are brick wall not the harbour unless very expensive rooms are booked. The birds don’t let you sleep there is a foyer where the rooms facing the brick wall with so many birds with hurrendos sound you can simply not sleep. Asked the hotel weeks in advance to allocate two rooms near each other so my kids room could be near us ended up in two different corridors. After complaining and writing to hotel no one even tried to reply or contact us. The hotel is so busy with people checking in/out that for any small questions you have to queue up for long time. There is no concierge so you can not book any tours from hotel you need to go to Tourist information which is very close to hotel with great service but a long queue. Hotel location is perfect close to Harbour but the pictures on the app is not what you get , hotel rooms are not facing the harbour. Plenty of other hotels bear by with better view than a brick wall , very claustrophobic.

We travelled with a young child and were given rooms on the 2nd floor. On the 2nd night, there was a loud party in the conference room beneath us until 2am. The music was so loud that we also felt the vibrations and booming in our rooms above. The hotel gave us no warning of the party or possible disruptions, nor were considerate enough to give us a room in a different location, especially considering we had a small child. Early the next morning, we were awakened to the drums of marching cadets, or the like.
