Novotel Amsterdam City

This is our third stay in a Novotel, our first in Amsterdam. We find this hotel chain very reliable. The hotel itself is in a nice location, accessible by train as well as tram. The hotel was booked fully and they couldn't give us our room even 30 minutes earlier than check in time. But we got connecting rooms upon request. Breakfast at all novotels we stayed, including this one, is awesome. If you are used to included breakfast in US hotels, you will be amazed at the range of options in a Novotel in Europe! It is not cheap and usually not included. But if you pay for breakfast when booking the room it is much cheaper than if you pay after check in. At this hotel kids under 16 are free, so we effectively had to pay for only 2 adults. Totally worth it, especially before a day of sightseeing!

Excellent property but we noticed stains on our towel on the last day. Also breakfast should be included. Finally, there is limited space in the bathroom to put toiletries. Staff friendly. Currently i could only put it on a shelf behind the toilet. Otherwise lovely place, small play area for children and lovely seating areas and a shop downstairs.

Great clean modern hotel outside of City center but 5 minutes from multiple metro options, would suggest for family looking for modern room conviences.

A nice place for a short break in Amsterdam. The staff were friendly but possibly overstretched (forgetful). We had booked a travel cot and were assured it would be in our room, but it took a few phone calls after arrival to get it. We had no bath, which was a surprise, but the staff managed to arrange a baby bath. Shower was mouldy around the edges. Food was OK but overpriced. Room was very hot even with the AC on as per instructions. Would have been cooler just with the window open but the blinds blocked airflow so we had to just use the AC.

We (me, my wife and our 3 yrs old kid) really enjoyed our stay in the hotel, especially the breakfast, hotel conditions and location was better than our expectation.

Clean and comfortable hotel, and great for families. They had a small play are for children, which is good way to keep them entertained for awhile. Bathroom was extremely clean (even the public one in the main floor). Breakfast was a great variety and catered for all types of diets including vegetarian and vegan. Staff could be more friendly.

I think toddlers should get free breakfast even if the adults are not having breakfast.
