Well I would start of by saying that it is definitely a brilliant 3 star hotel with a (small) pool. By no standards we found this to be 4 stars.
The Positives :
1) Breakfast. Very nice breakfast , with lot of options that also get changed on a daily basis.
2) Most service staff were really helpful , but especially the ones in the restaurant and bars. (Front desk guys seemed overworked)
3) Rooms are large with enough place to put your luggage and the hammock in the balcony (if provided) is a nice touch !
Cons:
1) Lack of attention ? We reserved for two rooms and Ofcourse even messaged at the time of reservation for these together. Forget connecting rooms but the two rooms were like on either end of the resort ! No apolobgy or explanation given.
2) Mind you, not all junior suites have a Balcony! Even though advertised. One of the rooms has a balcony but twin beds, the other had a king but no balcony. Again, no explanation provided.
3) The AC was really straining itself to cool down the room (807). We didn’t complain as it didn’t bother us and put the fan on but in peak summer this is a problem.
4) If you’ve trouble climbing, most of their rooms are up a winding wooden staircase. Would have been nice if they would give us an intimation before. The other room (232) was on the third level.
5) The mattress was good but the pillows have seen better days.
6) The bathroom was really like one in a motel. Even the basin :(

I stayed here for the first time with my teenage daughter and had an amazing time. It was better than expected in every way. So many photo opportunities. We loved our room, balcony, beach access, pool and the staff was extremely welcoming. We had the included breakfast and it was delicious. We can’t wait to come back with the rest of our family.

Overall, we felt comfortable at this hotel. It wasn't overcrowded as it wasn't peak tourist season. The food at Hotel Villas Paraisos was always very good, thanks to the great Chef Abenamar. However, on weekends, we had to dine twice at the sister hotel Palapas, where the food was nowhere near as good. Additionally, we felt less welcomed there. The head chef was also not as friendly, even bordering on rude. Nonetheless, we were relieved when we could dine again at the restaurant in our hotel, Paraisos del Mar.
We did bring up some issues at the hotel, which were quickly resolved. We've also managed to forget about an extremely unfriendly incident involving a waitress and our child.

I was hoping for a professional resolution to our issue but it is not going to happen: our flight got canceled on the 16th and we arrived and checked in on the 17th. The property still charged us for the 16th but promised that later we will be able to get a refund through Expedia which turned out to be a LIE. None of the phone numbers listed on the property work and no one had reached out to us about the status of our refund, it's not a cheap hotel so it is a lot for our family to lose. Expedia travel agency was not able to get in touch with Villas HM Paraiso Del Mar either and since the hotel is the direct billing party we were told to deal with them directly. Again, all 3 numbers that we called multiple times and emails we sent went unanswered. Very bad customer service since we were. very excited to spend our Anniversary and Father's Day there.

The property was beautiful. We had some amazing staff that took care of our family during our visit. There were a few inconvenient hiccups while we were there; we decided to do all inclusive because we were traveling in a group. We got some differing info from the front desk as to how that worked, that was a little misleading. Some front desk staff was wonderful, some could care less to help or answer questions. They also didn't follow through on all the inclusive perks until we asked about them, disappointing. The rooms were very clean but we always had to ask for toilet paper, it was never refilled. Same with the mini-fridges. Holbox is beautiful and I would recommend this property, just know ahead of time there are a few things you'll have to keep on top of.

I liked all the garden and tropical plants. The ac was great and the shower was hot and great pressure- something not common for me traveling in mexico. The bed was soft. Staff was friendly. I traveled with a toddler and she liked it too exploring the garden and hanging at the pool.
