This place is quiet to relax, having access to the beach is great. The waves are calm and children can have fun and play in the waves. The hotel is an old but acceptable structure. Every night we enjoy the beautiful sunset! The staff was very friendly and helped us in every way possible. Breakfast and whiting were perfect. All the rest of the food is acceptable. WHAT NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED IS TO HAVE MORE VARIETY IN BEER. THEY HAVE ONLY ONE TYPE. THEY ALSO NEED NEW TOWELS, THEY ARE VERY OLD! FOR 2 DAYS OF 3 OF OUR STAY THEY DID NOT HAVE BEACH TOWELS AND THE HOTEL WAS NOT FULL TO ITS CAPACITY. ALSO, IN OUR ROOM THE TOWELS WERE VERY OLD AND STAINED. THESE MEXICAN VILLAS HAVE A VERY EXCELLENT LOCATION. IT JUST NEEDS AN UPDATE SO URGENT! BIG THANKS TO THE NIGHT SECURITY MANAGER! HE IS DOING A GREAT JOB!! WE HOPE FOR THE FUTURE WHEN WE RETURN TO THIS PLACE THEY HAVE DONE THE REMODELING AND THEY HAVE ENOUGH AND NEW TOWELS. WE STILL HAD A GREAT TIME!

Our original accommodation fell through quite last minute for spring break and we had to scramble to find a place. We chose Hotel Villa Mexicana and we were so glad we did. It has a great location right on the beach. It is walking distance to Las Gatas, and downtown Zihua (we did both with our two children under 5). There is a little Mercado with souvenirs/beach things right next door. The food at the restaurant was delicious and decently priced. All of the staff were courteous and helpful. We had no issue getting beach chairs every day. We upgraded our room to have ocean view/poolside and I recommend it. Worth every Penny (especially with small kids). The rooms are basic, and don’t have a fridge but we had a cooler and made it work just fine. Make sure to check out Loot, and Triton nearby and try the breakfast at the Hyatt next door (for a bit more $$$).

The hotel was clean with air conditioning. The service at the hotel was ok, but the service at the restaurant was completely unacceptable. The waiters had bad attitudes, coffee was not served promptly and they serve it cold. The hotel pools close at 9pm which is earlier than other hotels in the area. However, the hotel has beach access and it is good for families.

The most important thing for me on a holiday is to be on a beach where I can swim in the sea. I don't know how Zihuatanejo is not better known in the world, as in particular Playa La Ropa is one of the most stunning locations I have ever visited. The beach is perfect but it is how it is set in a bay with spectacular scenery all around that really makes it. This hotel is right on the beach, with a nice pool and beachside area and restaurant. One night we even had a huge turtle wander up and make a nest against the wall of the restaurant. For a reasonably-priced hotel, the rooms are spacious, with a large shower, and the beds are prefect for me as they appear to made of solid concrete. Some people have complained about the WiFi. I admit I lost connection occasionally but then it was possible to connect to what I assume it the WiFi for the conference part. In any case, this place is Paradise and it's nice to switch off from the outside world. Staff for the most part were pretty quiet but friendly when you spoke to them. This is very much a place where older Americans, younger couples without kids, and families come, and many of them seem to be regulars. Staff seem to be more friendly with them but that's only to be expected and when I got talking to some regulars, staff were a lot friendlier with me (not that they were unfriendly before).

The hotel service is great , clean and all staff very friendly . I just would recommend to get more staff because sometimes we have to wait to long for service because not enough staff. Service at the pool suppose to start at 12pm but you have to wait to get service until 1pm because staff is the same helping with the restaurant . I would go back with my family again.
