There were a few nice things about staying at La Posada - the staff were very nice, breakfast was included in the price of the room and was quite good, the private rooftop hot tub was great with a nice view. BUT the facilities were VERY run down, the main pool was not heated and was ice cold—not a single person swam there the entire 12 days I was there - the other pool is tiny and in a weird little dirty back area. The pool area is also dirty and very run down. The beach is also dirty with broken glass and dog poop and you can’t swim as there is a runoff from the city directly beside the hotel. It says there are multiple bars, restaurants - there are not, there is only one restaurant with a bar that you could sit at, but it was not a fun spot to sit at all. If you are planning to go out for daytrips every day this is an OK place to stay, but DEFINITELY dont go with your kids thinking you are going to hang out by the pool.

The hotel was very clean but in an older part of town the view of the bay was beautiful but beach in front was public and was noisy from way late until early morning with kids partying all night. The breakfast menu was very limited and the tv never worked. The location was 6 miles from the main strip along the marina which was maybe good and bad for some guests. I would stay here again but maybe only as a necessary stopover on my way elsewhere.

The staff is friendly and most speak English. We speak enough Spanish to find our way around in Mexico but don't always find the right word. We stayed in room 16, a king suite. It's nicely done and very comfortable. We like the black iron spiral staircase that takes us to an open air upper level with a hot tub and gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez. We loved watching the sunsets from this area of the room. This is the third time we've stayed here and it keeps getting better. We recommend this hotel to family & friends. The pool is clean, the premises is clean, the staff is accommodating, and the price is fair. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping, or you can take a short taxi ride to the location.
