The Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta

We loved our stay at the Westin. The hotel is elegantly done. It is immaculately clean and all hotel staff are friendly. We had bed and breakfast. There’s a large choice of food for breakfast and drinks. We had a room with a plunge pool, it was brilliant, the kids loved it and spent most of their time in it. There were plenty of sun loungers still free though if we did go to the main pools or to the lido. Drinks were reasonable and a large choice. Lunch in the pool restaurant was very good. We also ate at the buffet, the Italian and the other restaurant in the lobby that goes out onto the terrace. Three of us had the salmon here , it was expensive and quite tasteless. That was our only complaint, although we didn’t complain! Everywhere else was amazing though and we really enjoyed our stay, we would definitely recommend and return.

Wonderful hotel with excellent facilities. Fantastic ocean views from every angle. 2 pools and beach access. Several restaurants to chose from and very affordable prices for a hotel of this quality. Good for families or couples (there are pool areas for adults only).

Travelling for work and with my family. The pool and play areas were great as was the kids club with exceptional staff. The bar and restaurants very well maintained and service in the total very high quality. Nothing is too much effort and customer service is paramount to the entire team working there. Excellent trip. We will be back.

Our stay at The Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta, was great. Each one of the staff members was very helpful, professional and kind. The outdoor pool is heated. So even in April our kids (6 and 3 years old) enjoyed it a lot. The food at the Lounge Bar was delicious. I would recommend this hotel.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with our family. The facilities are excellent, staff are great and the food options are wonderful. The warm pools (indoor and outdoor) were key for us and unique for the island based on the research we did. We will be back.

The hotel has the most outstanding staff. They are all wonderful people who truly want to make your stay a memorable one. The hotel is large, clean and welcoming. Breakfast is plentiful and we used the lounge restaurant twice, the food was great and the service excellent. We were travelling without children and I did not realise that there were no adults only areas, so it was not peaceful if you just wanted to read a book by the pool. It would be nice to have a quiet area down by the bayview terrace.

There are no facilities for coffee, instant coffee in the room but we like to be able to have fresh coffee in the room. I went down to the lobby on Sunday morning at 7.30am and asked for two americanos, the barman told me to wait while he checked the time on his phone, this isnt 5 or 4 star treatment im afraid. We only eat a simple breakfast of fruit and yoghurt and difnt want to pay 21 euros each per day for this, there is no simple breakfast option here. The hotel has very few food options, there are children screaming and running wild yhrough every restaurant and public space, no adult or quiet spaces anywhere. The air conditioning in the bedrooms doesnt work so you have to open the balcony door that allows tge sceeching from the kids in the pool into the room. Every day our room wasnt cleaned and ready till 5pm even though we went out at 8am each day. We ended up sat in the lobby in wet swimming trunks waiting while the room was cleaned. The housekeeper told us she has 14 rooms to clean each day and reception hassle her to clean the rooms for new guests first which is why we were last each day. The hotel is a bit of a ghetto in a very unstable and broken neighbourhood. The whole place needs an uplift.

This is a hotel which is undoubtedly excellent fir a conference facility but is rather impersonal and overdeveloped for a family holiday. At times there is only one restaurant available which provides adequate but expensive food. The facilities are excellent in general. The rooms are clean but there were a few issues with the new rooms which needed to be addressed. The room was cleaned rather late in the day which is inconvenient. The campus itself is well tended but the area surrounding it looks rather like a building site.

We stayed at the Westin Dragonara during the February half term holidays with our two children. It’s a wonderful hotel, fantastic service from all staff, clean, huge rooms, great pools, delicious breakfast with loads of choice. The hotel is in a great location near to shops and restaurants and 20 mins taxi ride from the Airport

Great location and service. Good choice for family holiday.
