The hotel property was great, but the room was dated and quite disappointing for such a landmark-looking hotel. The common areas of the hotel were pretty impressive, but our room was old and bathroom smelt musky. The size of our room was decent for a family of 4. Adding a bed was easy and was ready for us before check-in. The bathroom and shower curtain smealt bad and room ventilation was poor. It was easy to see signs of molds around the bathroom. For such a great looking hotel from the common area, I have to say their rooms were pretty disappointing but the room rate was considered low for the size of the room. At the end, you get what you paid for.

Was very pleased with our two stays with the Grand Prince Shin-Takanawa. For our family of four, rooms had plenty of space and amenities for our long vacation. I would consider this top-tier for mid-upper class hotel (if such a category), with The Strings Intercontinental (another property I’ve stayed also in Shinagawa(, higher category, but more expensive.
Buffet was amazing too. With the price.

I wish there are more info about the pool admission fees. I booked this hotel because of the pool for the kids, not knowing that it would cost our family of 5 over ¥20,000 per entry! Everything else was fine but this was truly disappointing.

The staff is very kind and very helpful. However, the rooms are unbelievably outdated and not clean. I could literally see the a thickness of dust build up in the vents and on the cabinets -- allergies were triggered. The aircon was not working properly for the first 2 days, had to wait for someone to come in and fix it for it to work as it should. The tub was gross, the drain was covered in rust. The rooms were never cleaned properly. The room service staff would always remove the towels and not replace them. The trash was always left behind in the room. I always had to call and request towels and ask for trash to be removed. They hotel suspended room service accommodations, which was inconvenient. The most surprising part was that the hotel pool was not open to use unless you paid a fee -- I have never heard of a hotel guest having to pay a fee to use the hotel pool. I was definitely hoping for a better experience since we stayed for almost 2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families traveling with children.

This property is about 8 -10 mins walk from the Shinagawa JR station (West or Takanawa side). Hotel staff are very friendly and courteous. The room we stayed in was for three people . Just enough size with 3 beds, desk, fridge , side chair and dresser space. Good location for many train lines - JR East, JR central, Keikyu and Narita Express. There is a Seven Eleven within the property which is convenient. There are some restaurants closer to the station and food stalls inside the station after the gates. Would recommend this place for family as it’s in a quiet location but in a convenient location for multiple train options . No laundry but coin laundry available about 9 mins of walk .

While in Japan, I wanted a hotel with a family suite for 4 people and a pool. This hotel advertised having both items, but the pool and spa were closed and the room which accommodates 4 people was extremely small. Overall, I believe the pictures and the description of this hotel were not accurate and having had all the information, I would have booked a different hotel.

We stayed with our children. The front desk was attended by a woman, who dealt with us in an extremely unpleasant manner.
It's been a long time since we've experienced such terrible service at a Japanese hotel.
We will never stay here again.
The room's curtain had holes, and the walls were thin, so we could hear everything from the next room. In the early morning, we could even hear what sounded like the footsteps of a mouse or some other animal.
We thought it would be better not to stay here, even though the price is low. It was very disappointing.
