Nice helpful staff. Room was small. The refrigerator was really small. Just enough to put in a few drinks and pastry. Subway stations down the street. Shopping district within walking distance. Nice breakfast buffet which was reasonably priced at USD $12 for adults and $6 for kids. Two coin operated washer and dryer sets were often busy. You can check their availability on the tv. The dryers took a long time to dry clothes.

The room was comfortable, although it felt small with 3 single beds (for 2 adults, 1 child), there wasn’t much room to move or put our luggage. It would be okay for a night or two though.
We loved the free return shuttle bus service to the Golden Pavillion (the driver was very nice and friendly). Staff at reception was helpful and friendly.
The hotel is close to the train station but it is a bit far from the city centre and there is not much to do around the area (you need to walk 20-25 min).

Our family of three had a wonderful stay at this hotel, opting for the triple single bed room which was very spacious compared to the other hotels we’ve stayed at. The complimentary shuttle service to the Golden Temple was a highlight, providing us with convenient access to this must-see attraction. Although, we went to the wrong hotel at first due to similar names on our google maps, but it was only a short 3-minute walk away, which wasn’t a big deal — so just make sure you are searching for the right MONday hotel (there’s Marutamachi & Karasumanijo). Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the entrance/exit of the underground train made exploring the city a breeze. We highly recommend this hotel for families looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

Very convenient for larger families.
Not the best leaving area but who goes to Japan to stay in the hotel. Bedrooms were great.

Highly recommend this hotel!! We were a family of four and got tow rooms because it’s Japan and the rooms are smaller. The people that work here are very friendly, the hotel was really clean, and the location was amazing. The pillows on the bed are very small and the bed is pretty hard, but still worth staying with everything else mentioned.

The room was very very tiny. Our carry on barely fit. The pillows were very tiny as well (The size of a toddler) so I asked 3 more pillows but they only had one left and did not deliver the rest the next day as I requested.

Good hotel - great value for the price. 5 people in my family, we had a room with 3 beds and two futons. Safe, clean neighborhood. If I came back to Kyoto I would look for something closer to the station or Gion, but for the price, this was good.

The location is convenient as it's just right above the subway and it's walkable distance to Nijo Castle and Kyoto Gyoen National Garden. HOWEVER, the rooms are super dirty. I booked two rooms for my family and there're HAIRS on ALL the beds, pillows, blankets in BOTH ROOMS. You can see the dust on the table with your bare eyes. Also, the check in time was 3pm. When I went there to check in after 3, the receptionist told me that the rooms were still under cleaning. Based on what I saw in the rooms, I'm not sure how they define "cleaning" and how they actually implement it..
