The room was spacious for my family of four. Maybe changing the ladder to the upper bunk bed would be best because it was a bit difficult to climb on and off. The WIFI in the room was awful. It kept going on and off so many times that it was extremely difficult to utilize phones or a laptop. The WIFI was bad too when trying to watch TV as it kept going off line. The reception service was great. Very friendly from all individuals who assisted us. The location was great. Close to many shops and restaurants and a short walk from the St. Lucia train station.

We loved our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was small, but had everything we needed. Convenient to the train and a park right behind the hotel for kids to play.

Location of the hotel is perfect if arriving by train. 5 minute walk from station. Central to everything you need..restaurants, shopping, tours etc. 5-15 min walk from all the major sights. Room was small but clean and AC worked great. The family that runs the hotel is very nice and helped us with anything we needed. I would definitely stay here again if I am in Venice in the near future.

A lovely, family-owned hotel in the heart of Venice only a few minutes walk from the train station. Down a narrow alley from the main thoroughfare and right next to a large (and rare) city park. Family owned with super-friendly staff, the hotel is charming with simple, clean, and comfortable rooms. We loved the hotel, the owners, and will definitely return.

The hotel is in a great location! Like many European hotels, don't expect what you would see in a typical American hotel. For instance, the rooms aren't all that big and the shower was rather small. But it is a great family run business and we felt very welcomed by the family that owns/runs it. We even had one of the owners chase us down as we walked halfway to the train station with a piece of clothing we left behind in our room. I would recommend the hotel and stay there again.

Hotel Caprera is a traditional Italian boutique hotel, in a historic building, conveniently located near the Grand Canal and walking distance from the train station. There are countless shops and restaurants within a five minute walk from the front door. The family that runs the business is friendly, courteous and provided us with excellent communication leading right up to our stay. The continental breakfast provided was simple, yet adequate, including fresh rolls, yogurt, cheese spread, expresso, etc.
Things to note for your stay at Hotel Caprera: This is a nicely designed older hotel. As is common in Italy, not all rooms are air conditioned. The rooms without air conditioning have fans. If it is important for you to have an air conditioned room, make sure you request it when you reserve your room. Also, there is no elevator, but you will only need to get your luggage up the stairs once and the location would be very difficult to beat! The front desk assisted us with our luggage, which we did not expect, but absolutely appreciated. We were so happy with our experience here and will absolutely reserve a room here again if we make it back to Venice.

The speed and efficiency of the workers. The family like atmosphere and the fact they were available during a festival to help with our air conditioning. Top Notch! Clean, and the breakfast was excellent. The owner, and I think his son among others, were very friendly (they all knew Italian and English, and accepted our small knowledge of their language). Would go again if I ever came back to Venice/Venezia. I'll miss it.
