amazing location, fantastic beach, staff are lovely. rooms are decent size. pool was very cold and does not really have a shallow end.not so good for a non swimmer like me so couldn't get into the pool at all.I have a 5 yr old so we did not get any pool time at all. really needs a heated pool with a shallow end so families can play

This hotel looks amazing and a lot of parts of it really are beautiful. I do think it's catered more for families as Half Board options are more 5 star Egypt than 5 star Dubai. You can only eat in one place if on half board and it's dinner only, not a choice of lunch or dinner. We only ate in the half board place 2 times out of 5. The beach area and pool area are really nice and would recommend. However, there is no service to your sunbeds but you can get up, order and then they bring it over for you?? Bizarre really. Main issue, we had a room which smelt and the king bed was 2 beds pushed together. I made comment to them about this and they offered a "refurbished room" (why am I paying 600 euro a night for an inadequate room). The room was updated but smaller, the bathroom tiny. However, the bed was a proper bed(my wife is pregnant) and more comfortable and the room was clean and airy with no smell. I said I'd speak to my wife to see if she wanted to move and come back. I went back and the reception said the room she showed me was an upgraded room and need to pay another 500 euros! I was stunned, all I wanted was a room with a bed and didn't smell. She then began to barter with me about how much I would pay..... I'd paid enough, wrote down "0" and walked away. I'm embarrassed they run a hotel like this

The hotel surpassed our expectations. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived at 9.30 p.m. on a Saturday evening and missed dinner but they provided us with a substantial cold plate. We thought that the half board buffets were comprehensive and delicious but the drinks with dinner and in the bar were quite expensive. We noticed that the staff were wonderful with little children. The pool area and the beach was superb with free towels and sun loungers, and the little train that shuttled between the hotel and beach was fun, although it was a pleasant stroll that took us no more than 10 minutes (often including photo stops or bird spotting). As we are interested in wildlife, we were pleased to see flamingoes in the lagoon beside the hotel. The hotel provides a free shuttle into Villasimius, a charming little town. We would definitely consider a return visit in the future. Our 7-night holiday was very relaxing and enjoyable.

My family and I had a great holiday at the Sofitel. We had never been to Villasimius but had read other reviews on this hotel/area and decided to go for it. And thankfully it was a great choice. We have a 7 year-old and a 10 month-old and although the pool area wasn't too child-friendly for our baby the 7-year old loved it. The beach was really nice and both children had fun there. My eldest enjoyed the kids club even though she was the only English-speaking child in there. I loved the buffet dinners. The choice was fantastic and being a seafood lover I was in heaven! The hotel itself was very clean and definitely 5 star although I felt our room let it down a bit. We stayed 7 nights and had a really fantastic time and are planning to go back next year. If you are looking for relaxation, good food and good wine go here! The staff were very friendly and attentive. On the downside, we found the drinks pretty expensive and not a lot to do at night, but for a 7 day holiday we found it perfect.
