Mecenate Palace

We as a family with two teenagers and one baby, lived in a two room apartment. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice apartment, lots of stairs but it was ok with us. Good breakfast. Perfect location close to the Colosseum. Calm and quiet so we slept well. We enjoyed our stay.

Mecenate Palace is a nice quite little hotel within walking distance to most sites you will want to see in Rome. (15 min walk to Colosseum, 25 min walk to Trevi Fountains or the Pantheon) Although the rooms are very small they are very clean and staff maintains them well each day. The standard room will be too small for a family but for two people the small size is quite manageable. The included breakfast on the roof garden is wonderful consisting of scrambled eggs, sliced meats, pastries, fruit, quiche, and cappuccino. Also recommend the rooftop restaurant (Order the linguine with lobster you won't be disappointed). Suggest having the staff arrange to have a car pick you up and take you to the airport, well worth the 55 Euro each way (Just be aware when you check out that the bill for the car will be separate and they will want it in cash, which we were not prepared for). Highly recommend.
