This is a 3 star hotel pretending to be a 4 star hotel. Our family room didn't have the sofa bed as advertised or a fridge. Every piece of machinery in the gym was in desperate need of repair and as always with this hotel it was over booked and over priced. There were a lot of events on in Dublin that weekend so unfortunately it was the only hotel available when we booked. On the plus side the room was relatively quiet and the beds comfortable. There are a number of other hotels within 1km of the Clayton Cardiff Lane that are much better value. Stay there if you're stuck but look for alternatives if you can.

Not very family friendly in our experience and not the friendliest of staff.

Review I was very disappointed with the hotel for several reasons: There is no AC! I stayed there in the beginning of September 2023 and it was around 27 degrees outside, and felt much warmer in the rooms, where windows can only be opened to a hand sized crack. A small, portable electric fan. From the cheapest kind, was the only relief offered, the corridor smelled from humidity. Another item that do not stand with a 4 star hotel is the false sense of a hotel swimming pool. We went for a swim in 3 different occasions, the pool was dominated by kids taking a swimming lesson. We were told that a swimming school is renting the pool and all guests are only allowed in a single, very narrow lane. So a real more accurate description would be: the hotel guests may use a public pool that is used by a swimming school in the afternoon and evening (weekends included). Other disappointment is absence of a fridge (this has become standard across North America). Last, while the staff we never rude, most interactions left me with a bad taste, as if nobody wanted to make an extra step to assist, it they could decline a request or just refer me to someone else who declined it. To be fair- the location is excellent for people coming to the conference center. Walking distance to the main tourist attractions, public transportation, yet not in the middle of the pubs scene. I am definitely listing Dublin as a destination to revisit, but have scratch The Clayton off!

One night stay in a very clean and comfortable room, reception staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and location excellent for our sightseeing trip. Used the spa area which unfortunately was over run with children so not as relaxing as expected.

The hotel was very clean and staff were friendly and informative at the reception. Room was very adequate and clean. Staff in the bar/restaurant were extremely stretched and there was often a wait for service. Unfortunately our room seemed to be next door to some kind of service room so there was a constant done of some kind of machinery throughout the night. We used the health club for swimming but unfortunately this wasn’t very relaxing due to children’s swimming lessons taking place. Worth checking when these happen to avoid if like us we went in their for a relaxing time. We did enjoy our stay very much but these things are worth tightening up as it’s in a great location and almost everything was perfect for us.

booked hotel based on advertised parking available. When we got there we were told there was none and closest parking was a 10 min drive away,( not good when you are travelling with a young family), when we mentioned this to the staff our issue was approached with little to no empathy. Representative at reception said sorry, confirmed that parking was advertised with her colleague, and that was it. There wasn’t any attempt to make up for thei issue whatsoever. There are other basic issues but am limited by the amount of characters here.

2ngt family trip. Overall the stay was fine but a couple of comments to consider - with no air conditioning it was very difficult to cool the room & sleep was impacted. Breakfast time was far too much "self service" - I feel you should be shown to a table & tea / coffee / toast ordered there. Unnecessary queues built up at tea / coffee area & toaster.

Hotel is very central. Upon arrival to our room the bathroom bin was not emptied. Used razors and sanitary products in the bin. I asked reception to empty it and it was not done. A hpusekeeper entered our room at 9am whilst we were asleep. We paid €356 for the room. No breakfast. We have young children so were looking forward to a lay in.
