We had very high expectations about ending our trip to India by staying at the Taj Palace. The YouTubers were very complementary. To put things into context… we had stayed at the Leela Palace as well as the Oberoi prior to checking into the Taj Palace. Our family had reserved two suites.
Upon entering into the hotel.. you are hit by a very strong infuser fragrance. Check in required a long wait with little to no accommodations. Unlike the other hotels we checked into in India, no one greeted you in reception, you were left to hang about for a free agent. After over thirty minutes we finally made it to the check in point. As we got off the elevator’s to our rooms, we were literally over taken with a heavy caustic chemical smell that permeated the halls and entered into the rooms. The smell was so overpowering… that some of us developed headaches.
The staff at their main restaurant was understaffed and clueless as to basic service 101…. We had to repeatedly ask for flatware and napkins, water and plates., one could literally get better service at a Sizzler or Dennys restaurant.
For a hotel that claims to be in the same tier as an Oberoi or a Leela palace, they fell very short of a five star hotel. Closer to a 2.5-3 star facility. Our family will never stay at this hotel again. Save your time and book a stay at the Oberoi or Leela Palace.

Excellent staff always available to help. Proactive and courteous, it was an absolute pleasure. The upgrade for the family being the cherry on the top!
The property is not new and hence some pressures around the seams were noticeable. Rooms had carpets stained from countless days of hospitality, the WC’s had cheap seats and toilets/bathrooms are in dire meeds of refurbishment.

We had a wonderful time at the Taj Palace. Every single staff member was helpful polite and courteous. There was a lovely fragrance throughout. The staff upgraded us so that the kids and we could be on the sme floor a few doors from each other. We made use of the spa and felt totally pampered. We stepped out for dinner and found good options literally across the street. It was easy to get rides on Uber. We can’t wait to come back!

An amazing experience as always. Very lovely hotel and great hospitality. The breakfast is so diverse and tasty. Had a lovely time with the family.

It was very unpleasant. Both the rooms were very stinky and small. The life gaurd at the swimming pool was very rude. There were women in seriously exposing clothes in the pool with children playing around. They need to rethink their permission for a family swimming pool etiquette. The waiter at the morning breakfast was rude as well. I have travelled all over the world and lived in 7 stars and I can firmly say that they seriously need to rethink their policies. Their rooms were stinky and I held my breath for three days. Nothing better than a 2 star.

We needed two attached rooms for our family of 6, they didn’t have them available right away so we had to wait to check in. They offered complementary breakfast buffet to compensate. It was a very kind gesture. Great customer service. Immaculate rooms. Spotless. Great pool, wifi, and ultra comfortable beds.

1. My family checked in the evening. After having late night dinner in their restaurant, they ask me for the room number which I told them and they said it isn’t assigned to me. In-fact I’ve no room bookes on my or my family’s name in the hotel. I was shocked, I ask them how do I get the access card then which they said they don’t know.
I had to wait for 20 mins at least and then later they told they had system issue and they apologize for that. Well, I never had faced this issue in any hotel in my life, pretty bad experience.
2. My wife was waiting for me in lounge area, we wanted to have some coffee and snacks there, however, a waiter reach out to her and force her to sit in waiting area. Never expected that, we left the hotel, will sure not to take it again.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at, the hotel was beautiful and grand. The rooms were so clean and spacious!! The staff were so professional and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was so delicious!
I will definitely be back again and will recommend friends and family to stay at this hotel if they visit Delhi!
