We booked three rooms and a rental car in advance for a three-day stay, paying in full.
**Day 1:** At check-in, the reception staff refused to give us the rooms we had booked near each other. Instead, they forced us into different, far-off locations because they had assigned our rooms to a company group that booked the same day. It took nearly two hours to check in, and the staff was unhelpful and uncooperative. How can they prioritize a last-minute company group over our pre-booked family trip?
**Day 2:** With the company group checking out, they offered us an upgrade to rooms nearby, but the process took half a day, ruining our second day as we spent most of it moving rooms.
We also faced issues with our rental car. Every time we left or returned to the property, a local rental union harassed us, insisting that only their cars were allowed. The resort's security seemed to side with them. When we raised our safety concerns with the resort reception, the staff again refused to assist.
**Day 3 (Checkout):** Things escalated when our taxi driver arrived to pick us up. The resort security refused to let him in, leading to a heated argument with the union members. This frightened my family, especially my mom and kids. When we asked the resort reception for help, they refused, telling us to move our luggage outside the parking gate to board and offering no further assistance. It was shocking that they, as hosts, didn’t take responsibility for their guest
Horrible experience

We had a great time at the Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Hotel. Breakfasts were really good - very varied with both continental and Indian choices available. We came during a quiet period so lots of space around the pool which was well maintained. HOWEVER
We arrived around 3am and had booked a family room which was supposed to accommodate 4 people. We were surprised to find only one large bed in the room and no preparations had been made for the family. When we questioned them about the room they advised that the window seat doubled up as a bed! It was certainly not a bed as the cushion was very hard and only a small person could sleep in that corner. I can't believe that we paid extra for a family room only to discover that our room was the same size as all the other ones!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. They are a credit to the hotel which is why I was shocked to find out that the hotel's treatment of their staff was less that expected. There is a huge array of food available at the buffets throughout the day in the hotel. I asked a member of staff what happened to the food once the service was over and was advised that it is all thrown away and staff are not allowed to eat the leftover food. In this economic crisis, I find it heartbreaking that the hotel would treat their staff this way. They would rather throw away the food than offer it to their hardworking staff who make this hotel what it is today. Shame on them!

First of all would like to highlight the check in time for the property is 3pm which is very very late. I was travelling with my family(wife and 1 year old kid) and reached Goa at 9am. From North Goa Airport to Hotel is around 1.5hrs.One can go ahead and book Goa Miles Taxi from airport to hotel which will cost around Rs 2500/-.We had requested the hotel for early check in, although when we reached the hotel they told us we are fully booked and asked us to explore the property. We did that but even after 3hrs they could not get us a single room for checkin. Finally they managed to get us a room at 2pm with so much hassle and constantly reminding them.
Overall food is very good and the spread is nice althrough the rates are very steep.
Room service-They don't care to take the phone call of guests.Had to call several times before someone answers the phone or have to connect through the reception.
Room has all amenities but they are old.
Lastly i would like to highlight that the hotel is surrounded by taxi union which don't allow outside taxi to come to the hotel and if you go to book taxi through hotel they charge around 2-2.5 times the actual cost. In our case they asked us to pay Rs 6000/- to MOPA Airport which is very steep. It's as if they are looting the guests in broad daylight with no cap on the pricing.
Overall the stay was below expectations and it felt that they are short of staff and could not effectively manage all the guests.

Excellent hotel!
We stayed for 2 nights and it was wonderful experience.
The service is very good: at the hotel reception, at the restaurant, bar, pool and above all the house keeping
(thanks Krishna).
It’s a peaceful and well maintained properly.
The room was spacious, with all is needed, with nice balcony surrounded by nice garden.
The restaurant is very good, local and international cousin.
The beach is in a walking distance and super clean.
We recommend to see the sunset and to stay for another 30 minutes after to see the colors of the sky changing.
Highly recommended place to stay.
For singles, couples, and families.
Next to the hotel you’ll find shopping center, and few great restaurants.
P.s Thanks for the reception team for the hospitality!

I and my wife went to Novotel with our 1 year old for our anniversary. Although the original room allotted to us was in need of some maintenance, the hotel staff was kind enough to understand that and gave us an alternate room which we enjoyed staying in over next couple of days. The seagull and the housekeeping staff was very friendly and prompt in their service. Special thanks to the chef for accommodating a custom recipe request for our 1.5 yr old. Also, special thanks to housekeeping folks who decorated our room with towel swans and teddy. They also have a nice big swimming pool that both kids and adults would find fun. Altogether the inflated float tubes were not available for the kids. Our li’l one enjoyed the pool thoroughly though so no complaints. The beach is right behind the property so one can access and enjoy it anytime. Overall experience lives up to Accor standard.

We had three rooms booked here as a family. we had requested that the rooms be together as we had a child and elderly person staying. Despite the confirmation over email the rooms were spread out which caused us an issue on arrival.
Otherwise the hotel is very comfortable with nice rooms and good facilities. We would happily stay again. The access to the beach is great as is the pool.
One observation I would make is that the service could be better organised - there seems to be plenty of people - but often the towels are not replaced (or replaced when you don't want them to be) and in the restaurant it can be slow at time.
The range of food on offer is excellent and overall it is very comfortable.
