Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik was a gem for our family’s 24 hour layover on Iceland. A new property located 3 miles from the airport and a few hundred yards from a local car rental company, it was perfect for our adventure in this exquisite and breathtaking country. Being a Marriott member helped us procure an early check in with one of our rooms, but even before it was mentioned the front desk staff offered to try and accommodate. The breakfast buffet, not included, was robust and way beyond a typical hotel breakfast offering. Take note of the Icelandic jams and smoked lamb sliced meat on offer, as well as that delicious strawberry pastry. It more than filled us as we set out on our 11 hour adventure to see the natural wonders that make up the Southern Coast of this region. Having arrived back at 11pm, the night shift at the front desk checked us into our second room quickly, with humor and arranged for wake up calls to ensure our 5:15am check out was ensured. The hotel shuttle was waiting for us for to leave at 5:20. Five minutes to airport with ease. For a European style room, it was commodious. New hotel, very comfortable, beautiful room and modern fixtures & bathroom.
