We stop at Tilque regularly whilst travelling from UK to family in Switzerland. For us it is a wonderful and reliable place to rest before our ongoing journey. We know that there will a pleasant room and an enjoyable meal

Two families of four adults and five children on a one night stopover. Stayed in three rooms of the "Pavillion" which were all clean and modern. Ours (for myself, wife and two boys) was well-equipped on split level with the boys on the upper level. A moderately sized swimming pool which the children loved, giving it attention both on the evening of arrival and immediately prior to departing early in the morning. Simple breakfast in pleasant surroundings and it "did the job" All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. All in all a very pleasant stopover

Very pretty hotel and grounds. Lovely mezzanine family room, spotlessly clean. Nice swimming pool (some might think a bit small but we liked it) Alot of English spoken by most staff (waiter for dinner was extremely kind at translating certain dishes and enthusing about the "fromage" on offer.) Dinner was very good, child portions from adult menu available. Quite expensive but you are in a very nice hotel so what do you expect?Only grumble was the breakfasts did not live up to the dinner on the previous evening. It was OK, but could have been better, perhaps fresh crepes made to order rather than a plate of small congealed ones on a large plate? Homemade jam perhaps? (we found strawberries and blackberries in the grounds of the hotel that were being left to go off, which was a pity.) At 16 Euros I would have expected breakfasts to be special, and they are not. It is a lovely place, very quiet and away from it all. (The bike hire is another very nice touch, as are the tennis courts)
