Hotel Bonaventure Montreal

Our hotel was clean and comfortable. It provided pleasant toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. The swimming pool was popular with families. The underground parking garage was convenient. The location of the hotel was great for walking to nearby attractions and restaurants. We would stay at Hotel Bonaventure again.

Excellent place! Staff are friendly and helpful! Rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is heated at night and warmed by the sun during the day. It is spacious enough for kids to have fun while adults head to another corner all while someone is enjoying a few laps. The only negative would be parking. It is 27CAD which isn’t bad in US dollars but you don’t get in and out privileges. However everything is about a 10-15 min walk away give or take a few minutes!!! We were disappointed that there was no coffee or tea in the lobby. There was a coffee maker in the room with powdered creamer - we were very disappointed. The pool was outdoors and unfortunately we had torrential rain for the only day we had available to use it. Breakfast in the hotel would cost about $30 each - it’s not family focused unless you have very deep pockets! This hotel is well suited for business travel and a 10-15 minute walk to Rue Saint Catharine (an area where there are many shops and restaurants).

Really beautiful hotel and great location. We loved the property, the grotto and our room. Staff were helpful and professional. I would have given this 5 stars based on service and how lovely the grounds are, except we were very disappointed by the pool area. We chose this hotel for the pool, but it is much smaller than it shows in the photos, and on the weekend we were there, it was full of unruly kids who were tossing noodles and footballs while their parents encouraged them from pool side. There were also people eating poolside and giving their children bites of food while they were in the water. The pool was chaotic like this for our full stay. We decided to try the hot tub instead, but the jets were broken - it was also full of adults like ourselves who couldn’t get in the pool because of all the kids, so we left. I love children, but we came to a hotel for a romantic weekend and the pool felt more like a chucky cheese. Other issues with pool area included used towels everywhere and towels on every lounger even tho nobody was sitting on the loungers. No staff were in the pool area to keep it clean or enforce some rules other than the bartender, who was busy making drinks. If we come back again, it will be at a time when school is in so we can fully enjoy the property. Hopefully it will be a better stay.

Great central hotel with outdoor pool. Very walkable and close to train station and metro. We went for work but the hotel seems to cater to families for the most part with the pool quite busy with lots of young kids and families. Very professional helpful staff. Parts of the hotel are quite dated but overall a good deal.

It will definitely be our family's most beloved gateway!

The pool was the main reason we booked and it did not disappoint. So awesome to have a pool that kids and adults both enjoy and the DJ/music made it seem like a pool party which was a great way to start our vacation!

Like the surrounding gardens around the rooms. Very restfull. Also the accessibily to Old Montreal. The children had trouble accessing the tablets and television programs appeared to be limited.

Spent a couple nights with my family. Great service. The rooftop pool was the highlight with tropical drinks by the pool.

We had a problem getting into the room at night, and no one was able to help us for over 2 hours. The night manager solution was to give us another room, with our stuff (included needed medicine) stuck in our old room. eventually after fighting for 2 hours they were able to open the broken door lock, and moved us to a different room, kids went to bed after midnight because of this. Morning manager was a lot more helpful, but the stay was already ruined. Also it was in the middle of a remodel, so some areas were really dirty.
