Hôtel Rive Gauche

Stayed for 4 nights with elderly parents. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Large, firm pillows on all the beds which suited me fine but was problematic for the folks. Shower is slippery but there is no anti skid on the floor or grab rails. We did not ask for a room with these features so we went out and purchased a mat for the shower. When we arrived there was a note on the bed that alerted us to the fact that there would not daily room service due to staffing shortage. This was not a problem for us but certainly noteworthy. There were a few cleaning oversights in the room such as hairpins and a bottle of eye drops on the floor from previous guests as well as an uneaten sandwich on the balcony chair. We did not bring this to anyone’s attention. The room was otherwise clean and very comfortable. Front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Twice they came to our room to drop items off that we needed. If you want ice, it has to be collected at the front desk and staff are happy to help. The pool is located outdoors but was not yet open for the season. The on-site resturant had reasonable hours and a tempting menu. I regret that we did not eat there.
