Holiday Inn Express & Suites St John's Airport, an IHG Hotel

We pulled the sofa bed out only to find that it was not made up. We couldn’t have someone clean our room either because we had a baby who was already sleeping in the room. So we got sheets from the front desk and had to do it ourselves. The coffee area also only had 2 decaf pods. Disappointing experience especially because the price of the room is so high.

Very clean, nice pool for kids, amazing breakfast

The staff were not effectively responsive when requesting children running throughout 2nd and 3rd floors like it was their playground. They took no consideration that we had to get up very early in the morning to catch a flight out. Not impressed.

We had an excellent stay. Was the only hotel in town that allowed us to stay with our 2 dogs. The buffet breakfast in the morning was also excellent. & our kids had fun in the pool. Will definitely recommend this property to others and should we need to stay in town again we would come back for sure.

The hotel was beautiful and new, however, our first room has an odd smell much like cigarette smoke and we had to be moved because it was unbearable. Our second room did not have the smell initially but when we returned to the room after a day out we noticed it lingering so we're not sure if all rooms had this odd smell or just a few. Guests were also completely disrespectful to others staying at the hotel, there were kids screaming in the parking lot at all hours of the night then running down the hallways with music playing and talking loudly. The hotel was quick to response but it was not appreciated as someone who has a 4am wakeup call for a flight.

I have been traveling the world for decades. It is always a great surprise when i receive superb service. The little things do matter. The hotel is clean, cute, efficient and friendly ( and yes, they love our furbabies there). They also have a free shuttle from the airport, but if you arrive by car plenty of parking. We arrived early and our rooms were ready ( major plus). Our flight left late night they accommodated us with late checkout. The staff was absolutely delightful. The only suggestion i have, try to serve fresh vegetables for breakfast. Nothing fancy just tomatoes and cucumbers. Another thing, the pancake machine succumbed to its fate, so we couldnt have any. These are no big deal. On another note, the hotel is fully accessible to those with mobility issues. I cannot recommend enough this hotel.

Unfortunately our room was next to a room occupied by a family. The children ran in the hall, spoke loudly and kept letting their door bang shut until after midnight. I asked one of the children to keep it down or I would have to call the front desk. Luckily he got everyone to comply. We had a 2:30 wake up to get to the 3:30 airport shuttle. Very little sleep. Not as happy as I should have been. Perhaps families should be reminded for no noise after 10:00 or 10:30 to respect other guests. I understand families are entitled to travel and that children get excited, but...my room cost almost 200 for the night and I only got 2 1/5 hours sleep. Disappointed.

Our stay was great. Comfortable beds with enough room to accommodate all of my family. And the free breakfast was. We were in town for a Doctors appointment for my daughter who has juvenile poly arthritis. We haven’t received a special needs parking permit yet from the government as the condition is newly diagnosed. She has a lot of pain when walking Any distance so the front desk was kind enough to allow and communicate to other staff to allow us to use the special parking space nearest to the door. It was a great stay and hard to leave.

Noisy with kids running around the hallways until 11 pm

Terrific staff. Able to easily walk from car rentals at airport to this hotel. Good breakfast. The non-hot breakfast items were available beginning at 3:00 am which was perfect because we had to leave at 4:00 am to catch a flight. Only complaint was that the bathroom counters are WAY TOO TALL for me and my family. I'm 5'4" and my wife is 5'3" and we felt like we needed a ladder to reach the bathroom sink. Whoever the giant is that came up with this design needs to consider the not tall people.
