Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn

Carpeted meanwhile in the photos it shows no carpet… it’s like scam … my kid had asthma crisis due to dust / carpet… won’t advise to go there if you have allergies… staff are really nice and helpful though…

I’ve stayed here previously but this visit was a little different. Hotel was full with a large number of a dance group with parents and children of all ages. Lots of noise, banging doors incessantly, running and talking in the hallways, generally little peace & quiet over a 2 night stay. Management is great and shut down the noise from the room above when I requested at midnight. Myself & other guests also told the kids to knock it off. This morning the building alarm was triggered and I was out of there, the noise was incredible and the fire engine pulling in as I left. Thank you to the parents and their lack of good behaviour instilled to their children. I will stay here again but may enquire first as to any group bookings. Great restaurant on site and easy access to main hwy.

We have stayed here several times before and noticed a decline in a couple of areas. The continental breakfast was poorly managed. Food was sparse and cold. No hot water. Toaster did not work. We realize they were very busy with kid’s hockey teams but staff were not able to keep up. On the second day we went to Tim Hortons. The hot water and coffee dispenser in the lobby were empty all day. Suppose it was just a busy weekend but a little disappointing especially since the prices have increased.

Front desk staff was very accommodating! There were kids playing hallway hockey outside my room so they moved me and gave me a free upgrade! Great customer service

We chose this property because it was close to the family we were visiting.

It was a great experience and the availability of the family suite to have the extra room was great.

The front desk male attendant working on Thursday night 06/23/2022 was very blunt, rude and inhospitable. It was his mistake that the Expedia rooms were still showing available but then he was not willing to offer us the family suite at the same price we booked online with Expedia. He had no desire or interest to assist us or fulfil the reservation we had booked online as he said he didn't have the same room type available!! Then why did he not close those rooms types online with the Expedia booking system. He was very apathetic and looked like he hated the job he was doing. His loss our gain as they moved us to Westin Bear Mountain Resort hotel which was obviously incredible service from Expedia going out of their way to provide exceptional service to us. This front desk guy does not belong in the people business!
