This hotel is extremely overrated and underwhelming at best. Let’s start with the room. Take two bales of hay and put a bed sheet over it with a comforter. Awful! Room service is invisible unless you request it and even then, they disrespect customers by lying to management that the room had a do not disturb sign on the door, or even better, that I somehow expressed that I did not want my room made up on a daily basis, (which is a staple service item at any normal hotel). Further, with the one room service that was done after I pushed management, they didn’t refresh the water bottle or the mouth wash that was used earlier in the week. Now onto the breakfast spread. The spread was crap and not worth the added-value service. If you don’t care about the quality of breakfast food that you serve your clients, don’t serve it! The pool area had absolutely no atmosphere unlike other pools that I have experienced. No plants or greenery, no towels on lounge chairs as indicated in profile pictures. In fact the towels provided were stained in most cases and not even big enough for use by a child. No frills to say the least. Very disappointed in the poor level of service and amenities at The Pomeroy. I would not recommend this place if it was the only option in GP. Staying in a yurt and going to Major’s for breakfast or experiencing Crooked Creek Donuts would far exceed what I experienced here. What is your hard earned dollars worth? Better than this place could ever hope to provide.

The absolute best place we have stayed between Kansas and Alaska! Traveling with 3 adults, a toddler and 2 pets. FANTASTIC place! Very clean, very comfortable (the best mattresses we’ve slept on in 2 weeks!) The breakfast was WAY better than we expected! A gem of a place! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Arrived to find out the pool was under construction, i booked thjs place to spend a night away with my family especially specifically for the pool. They did give us a $50 voucher for the restaurant which was nice. The area around the hotel very sketchy! Felt very unsafe. The floor we we were on smelt like chemicals, our room was okay. Not as advertised the picture's did not match the booking. Cleanliness was a 3. Our room smelt like smoke and the fridge smelled like onions..normally i would complain but who has time to when your chasing after a toddler under 2. Food was average in the morning, our sausages looked raw but apparently that is normal. Overall friendly staff. Id suggest lowering the prices for what you get. 3 star hotel at most.

Our first room was poorly equipped, no ironing board, no luggage racks, no drawers or even shelves for our belongings. Fan in washroom did not work. Upon complaint management was amazing, placing us in the executive suite that had everything and more. The other issue is beyond the hotels control, the railway lines with train whistles throughout the night and a busy main intersection very noisy traffic. The pool was also closed during our stay (was advised upon arrival, wish they advised before hand) and is one of the main reasons for our stay there, to enjoy swim time with our family. The interior reception restaurants are excellent and offer great meal deals and a very satisfying hot morning breakfast. This property is worth a stay as their customer service goes above and beyond. thank you.

The room was clean and the staff were very friendly, no issues on that side. I did have an issue with some overly medicated and intoxicated guests in the pool area, who decided it was a good idea to pour dish soap in the hot tub and litter beer cans all over the place (I counted at least 7). This is not the fault of the hotel directly, and security eventually acted on it after multiple trips, but i think a quicker reaction would have been appropriate, given the pool area is literally right next to the front desk, and these individuals were screaming obscenities at random guests with kids around. Aside from that, everything else was fine.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, to start the beds are hard as a rock and there was garbage left in the room from previous guests, there was such a small amount of toilet paper we ran out the first night, called the front desk and we were told we had to go down and get it ourselves, there were kids running up and down the halls upstairs above our room until 1230 am and the then the dogs starting barking at 630am. We ended up checking out early and changing hotels, there are literally gaps at the top of the doors so you can hear everything clear as day from every room. When we voiced our concerns nothing was done. Save your time and stress and book at the quality inn. They went above and beyond when we switched and is by far 5 times better than this hotel.

I always stay here when I come to grande prairie; the rooms are decent and the staff are friendly, the free breakfast is good and it’s a good place to stay with kids.
