This was by far the worst traveling experience of my life. In what was supposed to be a great way to celebrate my birthday turned out to be a nightmare from start to finish. From power outages, no AC, unclean rooms and overall lack of customer service. There were power outages every night of my stay, we were unable to watch TV or use AC. When pointing this out to guest services all we were told was that the island is having power issues and they would offer a $150 credit to put towards our incidentals. One night we didn’t have power for 4 hours, sat in the dark/heat until we fell asleep. Management staff stated I could speak to the GM to address my concerns, however he had a family emergency the day he was supposed to come in. I was deciding between this hotel and the other large resort 5 minutes away. I wish I would’ve stayed at the other one. When speaking to other travelers we were told the Marriott resort had generators and the guest there weren’t experiencing what we were. Out hotel only have generators in the lobby so the guests were just left in the dark literally. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here!

The resort is not inexpensive to start with, but, everything is "nickel and dimed" for extras. Even the boat-ride from the main area to the beach was an extra expense (every time). The rain kept me from doing many of the available activities, but If the weather had been nice, the trips to the beach would have been a ridiculous add on and the "free" toys like kayak etc.
To avoid extra meal fees at the resort, I decided to get coffee and a pastry at the Brew cafe for $10.00 and purchased a large yogurt in town and did not partake in the $25 breakfast buffet daily. My cabin had a small fridge only. My yogurt was totally frozen by the 3rd day.
As far as noise goes....the roads are gravel and noisy. There was road travel by golf carts and the gravel was not quiet...even at night. Luckily the heat pump-air conditioner dinned the noise.
The area is not safely walkable. My sister fell two times on trip hazards. Look down as you walk!
If I had known more about the area, I would have stayed at another place, but my family group was staying here so for convenience I made this reservation.
On the bright side, I had good food at the Veranda and drinks at the bar.

Our stay was incredible as always for our fifth time at mahogany bay. Let me start my naming incredible staff: Dennis, Alan, Tyrone, Armando, Jayden, Duane, and our boat captains Elbert and Wilfield. We brought our parents for a trip first time out of country and stayed in a larger family home Perfrct for the four of us. We will of course be back again!

The resort itself was nice, staff was super friendly. Rooms are super noisy, no way to block out outside noise due to windows only being plantation shutters and doors don’t seal. A lot of construction going on around the area and there was a family with rowdy little kids below us slamming doors and stomping all night. Golf carts flying down the gravel path in front of our room. Beaches here are not white sand & are very limited and smells. Not much to do except drink and lay by the pool or the so called beach areas. Also super pricey for a third world country. We will not be going back, a decent one time experience.

We had a beautiful time at the Mahogany resort. It was 10 of us. We had the 3 bedroom cottage for us and the other families had a 2 bedroom. The resort is gorgeous. It's very clean, the people are so nice at the resort. The food was pricey as some of the other reviewers stated. This was totally a safe resort. The massage at the spa was maybe 1 of the best I ever had. We were there Dec 19-22 2022. Other reviewers commented on the mosquito bites. This is true too so bring some bug spray. It was a great time. You will enjoy it!
