The Chermside Apartments

Advertised breakfast was not available- no cereal, no toast! Had to take children elsewhere for breakfast. Room was tired, torn sofa, beds were comfortable. Shower leaked. Good location as close to airport

Good value apartments and good location but they definitely need a deep clean. We had to wipe up food from the kitchen benches and tables when we arrived. Roller blinds broken. A lot of damaged and dirty plaster walls. But well supplied with washing powder, shampoo, detergent etc. washing machine and clothes dryer was very handy. The pool and breakfast provision was great. We met another lovely traveler and dined together. The Indian restaurant downstairs was fantastic and menu had a great kids option with mild curries. We never could figure out how to exit the garage with our room key though! We’ll be back for the convenience but would be great to see the place having a deep clean and some maintenance completed before then.

The hotel was conveniently located for family members having surgery at a nearby hospital.

Very limited parking available onsite considering how many units they have, parked in next door though was told by another guest we might get towed. Found a park down the road. The bathroom floor in the corners looked it hadn't been cleaned for a while, no shower soap at all, no shampoo or conditioner available to use. Breakfast was ok, very small area to have it, the apartments were booked out because of the Pink concert one family was eating on the ledge because there were no tables available.

Was lovely family stay kids loved it and enjoyed the free breakfast and a swim

I booked at this apartment only for 3 nights, we had a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment which was great for our family … it was so great that we wanted to book another three more nights, unfortunately the 2 bedroom deluxe was not available so we had to go to the 3 bedroom which was even better. I loved the set up of the apartment and especially as one of the bedrooms was separate to the other two bedrooms. The aircon in the apartments worked really well, both apartments were spacious, and the balcony of the 3 bedroom apartment was very big, with a large table and chairs which was perfect for us as we used to have breakfast out there before the heat kicked in. The complex also offers free breakfast which is toast and cereal and fresh fruit, which is located on the same level as the pool. There is a pool at this complex, we enjoyed it and its open til maybe 8-9pm. There is a shopping centre close by that you can walk to along with McDonalds being a 1 min walk. Parking is a first in first serve but there is parking next to the apartments which has no time limit.

Very spacious, very comfy beds and kids really enjoyed the stay

Good rooms for couples not for big families

If you love Australia and Aussies you will love staying at the Chermside Apartments. A short ride from the airport (BNE) it makes for a convenient layover as well as being well equipped for a longer stay. Chermie Westfield mall is a short walk away for all your shopping and eating needs. There is an all day reception desk with the feel of a family run business where people care about people, not just dollars. We will be back.

Late night arrival so tried to contact hotel 24 h before and could only get answering service. Next day (morning of our departure) they called and advised that they couldn't provide the room we had booked (2 bed superior apartment) but would provide two 1 bed apartments instead. They said due to flooding. I asked if they had water damage and they said no. I asked about parking and they said that late ant night we may not be able to find on-site parking (a correct prediction). So, shifted because of flooding but the car park may be full. Hmmm. When I pressed the issue saying we had one child and two adults, they offered a free stay at some later time. On arrival, after hours access was fine via the key drop box. However, although one of the two rooms was acceptable, the other room was terrible. Cramped, old and not even close to the advertised standard. So bad in fact that we didn't even bother to ask them for the future free stay they had offered when pressed. General condition of the building also old, cramped and unattractive. Would never even think about returning.
