Vivaldi Hotel Loft Punta Carretas

It was an absolutely horrible experience. From the construction sites on either side of the hotel and being woken up at 7am on the dot, to getting stuck in the elevator for 45 mins to the shower head being broken and water spraying everywhere to the stench of sewerage through the rooms. My partner and I have to pay for uber rides to take us to different family members houses so we can stay and rest there instead. We paid for a room we can't even utilise properly. I have epilepsy and need my rest. If I have a seizure in Uruguay, what is going to happen to me? The hotel certainly doesn't seem to care. When we got stuck in the elevator with another couple yesterday, I suffer from claustrophobia too and that started hitting me and we were all afraid this was going to lead to a seizure. We had to all talk to one another so I could calm down. We were offered a refund for the remainder of the time that we are staying at the hotel which is until 28 March which they said they would put back into the visa debit card I used. When I asked how long it would take to hit my account, the girl behind the reception desk said 30 days. WHAT AN OUTRAGE!!! They are fast to take the money out but not quick to put it back. I said how am I supposed to go to another hotel if I don't get the money for 30 days. That is after we are back in Australia. At the most it should be 24-48 hours which is the same information that a cousin of mine that lives in Uruguay told me.
