Candlewood Suites Norfolk Airport, an IHG Hotel

It was a horrible service from check-in to Check-out. Me and my family arrived Friday evening to check-in well none of the reservations paper work was printed out so we had to wait okay no big deal. We get to the room well key card did not work so we had to go back down the to service desk to get that situated. At that point we were tired and hungry so the front desk attendant express they will have it fix when we get back. We get back around 10pm and our key card still was not operational, we had to go back down at this point we were really tired and sleepy so the front desk attendant had to use his master card to let us in for tonight. Get up the next morning (Saturday) still no key card operational, we endure this the whole stay. Property manger had to hook up a computer just to open the door for each time we need to leave the property. Didn’t get ask to move to another room til Saturday night which we were to exhaust to move anll our belongings and we had an 5am flight Sunday morning. This was a very inconvenience for me and my family. Room 302 needs a major upgrade to that room. I pray they take that room off line until they are able to fix the door. I will never recommend this property to anyone.

This is one of the best properties in the area. The rooms are spacious, clean and well stocked. The manager and staff are fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for business travelers as most people here are workers and military. The imposed quiet time is great. The kitchen features are great for longer stays. I have stayed here twice while in transition and would definitely recommend to anyone and will be recommending to my friends and family traveling to the area.

Polite and cheerful greeting by Ms Jasmine at the front desk who expedited check-in and was helpful during our stay. Housekeeping, room cleaning and customer service was exceptional with Ms Zeana/Izeaner who made us feel like family. Mr Freddie (GM) a very kind and understanding gentleman took great care to assure our stay was comfortable and our needs were satisfied. In fact the entire team should be commended for their sincere desire to make us feel special and in recognition we want to thank them.

Room was $165. Plus $50 deposit. Phone didn’t work tv didn’t work tub was clogged couldn’t shower bathroom had brown poop looking stain on wall and had to move rooms at 12am with 2 babies sleeping. I was the furthest thing from happy.

Pretty disappointing stay for our 1-night family of four. The first room had a soaking wet carpeted floor around the wall AC unit, which was discovered after my son stepped on it. Concerned about mold, we asked for a new room from the helpful and kind front desk rep. The new room had visible dirt marks on the walls and doors, many which looked like they could have been wiped clean with minimal effort. Also, the bathroom had no hair dryer. When we asked for one at the front desk, we were told that there were none available, which prompted an unplanned trip to go purchase one. Pretty disappointing since it was advertised as an amenity. My email complaint to the hotel has gone unanswered for several days, so I am posting a public review to warn others. We will not be coming back, for sure.

No airport shuttle during my trip which was one of the reasons I picked property. I had a late arrival and was checking on shuttle hours when I was informed it " was out of service" Staff member said call when I get to the terminal but that would have been midnight. I had a family member from the area pick me up. Studio suite was big and fairly up to date with furnishings. clean.

The guy at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant. Me and my family would definitely stay again

BEWARE: Though hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating, the smell a marijuana poured through the vents into our room constantly. The kennel across the street provided a soundtrack of barking dogs morning, noon and all thru the night. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom was stained, dirty and had poorly patched up walls. Overall, the hotel smelled stuffy, mildewy, damp and smokey. Couldnt stay more than one night, had to move my children to a different hotel.
