Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Snyder

We were there for a funeral. We visit fairly often and usually stay here when there is no room at family’s. Always a very friendly staff and comfortable. I was disappointed to get a call about payment after we decided to stay an extra day. We made the arrangements with Deven the night before but for some reason there was an issue with something, I’m not even sure what it was but we were all together celebrating my nephew’s life so it was a tad bit annoying. I will stay there again. It is always a nice stay.

We have to travel to Snyder Texas every December for family visits. We have stayed at this hotel for 5 years. It is constantly nice and convenient for us. Very nice property. The breakfast is also very good.

The check-in staff was very polite. When I reserved on Expedia, I chose this hotel because it was pet-friendly. When I arrived, I discovered that pet-friendly means a (a Benjamin note extra) non-refundable deposit. This is way more than other pet fees and the same amount as the room rate for three people is, and please, don't call it a deposit if it's non-refundable. Didn't have a choice but to pay the fee on top of the room cost as we are moving with our family pet.

The lob was very nice as we arrived. But the rooms were a little disappointing. We couldn’t get the refrigerator or the microwave to work the 2 nights there. We reported the problems to the desk person but these issues were never resolved. The swimming pool was green! I didn’t have take pictures because young children were swimming and I don’t believe in sharing pictures of other peoples young children’s photos.

We’ve stayed here many times since it was built - very pleasing design. However, were issues the last 3 times…summer 2021, mid-June & the temp was 108 (heat wave) & the pool was green; staff said they were waiting for a pump part (it happens); December 2021 (elevator was out); staff was wtg for tech - it happens); however, we stayed the 05/19 - 05/22/22 & temp was 106 - again, no pool - they put chemicals in the day before we arrived & closed it for 5 days - that’s a problem w/ maintenance for the hotel; they s/h stayed on top of it; their pool should not be closed for 5 days in the middle of a heatwave (they need to do a better job of monitoring & maintenance), plus and this may seem like a small thing, but they replaced the shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash in the shower with large bottles that have pumps (that’s absolutely fine & the products were nice), but they stopped providing soap at the sink - when we asked for soap, we were told we need to step into the shower & use the body wash- that’s absurd (the shower was wet and we had family visit us at the hotel as we live out of state). We were not going to ask them to step into the shower for body wash to use at the sink. We’ve stayed at numerous hotels, many with bottles in the shower, but have never been asked to get soap from the shower. The hotel needs to balance their efforts to save money w/ guests needs. We purchased soap. Lastly, there was a note on the waffle maker - it didn’t work. Too many issue not to comment.
