Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Houston West - Katy Mills, an IHG Hotel

Our stay was okay. Could have been much less stressful as it was a back to school vacation for the kids. My biggest problem was the hotel placed three pending transactions on my card. One was reversed on check in day, and one posted. But then on the day of checkout another pending transaction posted and placed the money in my bank account on hold. The manager had no idea and said it should release in a few days but I could not get a clear answer of why it happened in the first place. When we first arrived to the room, we sanitized, unpacked and went to the pool around 5 pm. Around 7 pm the lights went out in the building for about 3.5 hours. There was no bad weather or anything around us that should have caused this to happen. We were stuck in a hot room with children, soaking wet and bathing using our cellphone light with no estimated time of restoration. It was too much to pack up and move my family of 6 to another hotel so we set a time to wait before we moved to another hotel. The morning of check out, the plugs in the entire room were not working. My phone did not charge and we almost overslept past check out time.

The layout of the rooms made it very comfortable for our family with teenagers who like to stay up late and not be in the same room as the parents. The separate living area with a door to the bedroom was great. The location of this hotel was very convenient. Everything was within minutes with lots to do.

We got there late, do to a late flight. The room assigned had some one in it. So they gave us another room. It did not work for our family, so they put us in a third room. I am so appreciative of the staff for being so accomidating. It always make the staff better with a great hotel staff. The rooms were grood quality & cleanliness. Typical of what you would expect from a holiday inn. No complaints.

Great location/proximity to the mall, restaurants and attractions for kids.

Upon checking in we were advised our rooms with 2 queen beds were unavailable and we were "upgraded" to a ling bed room. Great except we were traveling with three kids and three adults so the kids have no bed to sleep in.

This was my second time staying here with family. The check in and out was quick and the customer service was great. The amenities were convenient, and we loved the indoor pool. Also, the convenience and access to the mall and other stores. We will be back again.

Very nice, comfortable hotel. Love the option to meet with family in lobby area, have coffee and visit. Lovely hotel!

Great property for a family stay. Indoor pool was clean and entire facility is well kept.

The guy at the front desk on Friday night on Feb 24th was extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never been treated this way before at this hotel, everyone is always nice, but after this experience, My family and I will not be coming back when we come to town. There are a lot more hotels in this area with Nice employees. I’m sure I am not the first to go through this with this Employee. Shame on Management

The gentleman who checked us in was very rude. He not only asked me twice but asked the gentleman behind me if we all were sharing a room, when clearly we had two separate rooms with double beds. It was my husband and kids. And the gentleman behind us was with a female. He assumed because we were hispanic we were all together? Very rude. I stay at many Holiday Inn but will never return to this location.
