For being an older hotel (we last stayed there like 12yrs ago), they seem to have done a great job of keeping things up to date. Every thing seemed clean and well-maintained, smelled clean, room was very nice. Having young kids that don't know how to walk softly, it was really nice that floors seemed to be thicker, so you couldn't hear them running around in the room. The pool was small but kept up well and clean. Kids had a great time in it. Breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of food choices, including actually good/soft biscuits (versus the hockey pucks you get elsewhere) and gravy with and without sausage. Ice coffee in the dispenser alongside the juice was nice. So eggs, biscuits and gravy, and diced potatoes...I was a happy camper. Parking is expensive, $20/night. Was not happy about that. But otherwise, we enjoyed our time there, and we enjoyed being pretty darn close to the beach.

I was honestly surprised at how quiet it was and the cleanliness of it . All of the staff that we encountered were super nice . I’m very picky with hotel especially with having a toddler and I really liked it .

Cons - Not the quietest stay for me. Heard the constant humming of the AC chillers. Then children screaming at 6am thru the wall. Shower made a very loud sound when the hot water was on. It almost felt like something would burst thru the shower wall. Pro - Location has easy access to restaurants nearby.

I did not read this in any review, but there are 2 key issues with the hotel. The one that impacted us the most was a nightclub on the bottom floor of the building on the street. They were blasting music out into the road to attract people and we could hear this until approximately 2 am. It’s hard to sleep with little children when they aren’t used to listening to loud club music at night. On the other side of the building there was street racing going on throughout the night, according to my parents who had their room window facing the other street. The accommodations were average to poor, overall, it’s not a very nice hotel in my opinion. However, the reviews will make you think it’s nice. Ultimately, we would go to another hotel next time, even if it costs a little more.

It's a nice clean place with a GREAT breakfast - we were disappointed we had tacos for breakfast our first morning, but on the second morning, they told us NO - that was shocking and disappointing, but it was still okay. My kids loved the views, and LOVED the Texas shaped waffle - they literally can't stop talking about the Texas shaped waffles. The staff was excellent and exceed our expectations on making our stay better than ever.

Location is great. We love The Grand View bar so that was our main reason for choosing this hotel. Upon check in we were asked if we’re “locals” I said yes just here to celebrate downtown and not have to drive home late at night. We were told they aren’t allowed to rent to locals because we destroy the property. I had already booked and paid for our room a month ago so I wasn’t leaving. She let us stay but gave us a whole speech about not destroying the room as if we were unsupervised children and not fully grown adults. Very unprofessional and will obviously not stay again since we’re locals.
