Best Western Inn of Brenham

We were in town for a baby shower and Best Western was the perfect stop for us. The rooms were spotless. The pool area was very nice and clean. The customer service at breakfast was top notch. The attendant Sherry W. was so attentive and friendly. She was clearing plates and trash for guests. She overheard me telling my son that the apple juice was out and in reality I didn’t know how to work the dispenser. She went and got my son a fresh cup of juice. The only complaint is the beds are sooooo hard, but that’s my opinion.

The rooms were not terrible and fairly clean it’s just an old motel look and feel inside and out. I missed the part where it’s only exterior facing rooms when I booked and then it was non-refundable. My family tried to enjoy the hot breakfast but they were using plastic liners in all the Hot warmers, so hot food was being continuously warmed in plastic. Soooo bad!! I couldn’t even imagine the amount of plastic chemicals you were likely ingesting. Only “fresh fruit” option for my kids were still frozen fruit cocktail or a packaged version of mixed fruit. So families who actually try to eat healthy will not find much. Definitely would never stay here again.

We were in town for a wedding and had several rooms booked by us and other family members. We arrived early, but the afternoon desk clerk was able to find us a room so we could get dressed for the wedding. The hotel is older, but kept up pretty well. Although the room was rather musty and very humid, that is not uncommon for older hotels in Texas. The bed was comfy and the room quiet despite facing the freeway. The drains in both the sink and bath ran very slow, so I pulled the sink stopper up as far as I could to get it to drain. Unfortuantely the next morning when we were leaving, one of my earrings fell in the drain. When I tried to retreive it, it went further down. I went to to the front desk and asked if there was a maintenance person working. I was told no, not on Sunday mornings. I explained to the day manager that I had lost a special earring down the sink. (One my son in law had given me on the day he married my daughter.) The manager tried to get in touch with maintenance, but no answer. Understanding it was important to me and not wanting to wait until maintenance came in, she took matters into her own hands and pulled out the drain herself. We found the earring! This type of service is very rare these days. What the hotel lacks in minor discomfort, it more than makes up with great staff. I would happily go back just to see the smiles of these great ladies.
