Location is convenient-- downtown and next to the river, and the building itself is nice enough. The rooms are clean, and there is an indoor pool that seemed a hit with the children staying at the hotel.
The poor review stems from the lack of soundproofing and the bed (probably the worst bed I've slept on in any hotel). The continental breakfast is also an afterthought; I may have been happier with just a promise of coffee. The television also had terrible picture quality.
Writing this review to warn others who read these as I took the overall rating at face value.

We walked to the Crayola factory. It was everything our kids needed and more.

2nd stay here in three weeks time. We were so impressed, we came back with additional family to enjoy the North Eastern charm of Pennsylvania. Staff excellent. Clean and comfy rooms. Quiet and secure. Good rates. Found out a bit about the history of the Grand Eastonian Hotel, and did not know that the property is committed to sustainability of our environment and it’s resources. It would too much space here to explain, but research the owners and it’s story of the property online. Very interesting and admirable venture. Also the Hotel has had many famous guests; Payton Manning, Ringo Starr’s band, Johnny Mathis, Elenor Roosevelt, Jack Dempsey to name a few. I always try to patronize old Historic Hotels so that they will stay vital and continue to grace us with their history and elegance. So much to learn from the past. It’s just too sad when old historic structures are leveled and gone forever. I’m so happy that the Grand Estonian Hotel is still here to tell her story.

I adore old hotels and The Grand Eastonian is a diamond in the rough. You can tell management is really trying to bring it back to life. The property was extremely clean and the maintenance was constantly busy keeping it that way. Room was spacious and clean. Walls are a bit thin but our neighbor had a voice that carried, two little kids and it was 11:45 at night so I was sensitive to it. The whirlpool tub was amazing but for some reason I couldn’t get hot water in the shower no matter how I turned the lever. It was tepid at best. The taps should be marked hot and cold. The free breakfast had the basic choices but could have been better. The attendant told a family near me they don’t serve meat with breakfast. No waffle maker but they had a toaster with bagels. Coffee cups are super small. The breakfast room itself was kind of dreary. We ended up eating at the adorable restaurant on site that’s open from 7-3. Had a Friends vibe with cool furnishings and the food was good at a decent price. There’s a beautiful patio on the lobby level and the pool was clean and warm. I wish this beautiful old hotel many years of growth and refurbishing. All in all a nice stay and you can walk everywhere.

Nice room. Great parking. Okay breakfast.
Only wish the person at the desk was more helpful with the area. Needed a restaurant for dinner, with 2 children. He had no knowl edge of anywhere to go. In the morning the woman at the desk was much more knowledgable and helpful.

Visited with my wife and two Grandchildren tfor just an overnight and to take in a show at the State Theater a few blocks away. Enjoyed a Suite on the 8th floor with interesting views. Suite was comfortable and Clean too. Plenty of great Restaurants nearby, although the one in the Hotel was Closed the entire time we were there. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will return again! Looking forward to it and downtown Easton. Martin Morrison

My main complaint is that it was filthy. They also wouldnt let us check in before 4 because the rooms were not clean yet, ok. We went and grabbed dinner and came back after 4 or 5. Staff greeting us was friendly. The room was absolutely disgusting. Dark make-up powder dusted all over the floor, long dark hairs all in the sink, as well as every other surface in the room. Dirty hand smears all over the glass shower door, and all windows had definitely not been cleaned in awhile. The towels all had huge holes in them, some had what looked like blood on them. The pocket doors were broken and didn't set flat together, leaving a huge gap at the top, there were scuffs and holes in the walls. There was what definitely looked like mouse feces in the drawers of the nightstand. We did not bring it to the staffs attention that night because by the time we actually got in the room, took the stairs up with all our belongings, got our children settled it was late. We were all exhausted, either way I hate confrontation and didnt have it in me to repack, get my kids all worked up again and switch rooms. I just cleaned up myself and told them in the morning. The new staff the next day just brushed it off and wasn't concerned at all. Wouldn't give me partial refund and didn't care that we were completely unsatisfied. Definitely will not recommend this place to anyone going to crayola experience, the closeness isn't worth how filthy it was.
