Inn at Arch Rock

The Inn can provide an incredible view of the Ocean and unique access to Archrock along with its tide pools. Our stay had a few specific concerns 1. the strict pet policy wouldn’t allow us to have our family come by with their dogs, even if we kept them outside on a balcony 2. the penthouse was very hot and it didn’t seem to have AC. It was 84 on both nights and we had to open doors and windows to cool it down, and when open doors slammed open and shut, lamps fell, and the window coverings flew all over. The design of the unit didn’t consider how to hold doors open, slow shut (dampen) close, and how to manage the situation. 3. the penthouse 14 is above the lobby and is very loud in the mornings as breakfast is served starting at 8am. Along with the open windows which don’t allow you to keep out sound, you’re waking up with the kitchen staff below the master unless you bring ear plugs. On the positive, the staff is kind and eager to please outside of allowing for any dogs :)

If you’re looking for a room with a view, this place would be hard (if not impossible) to beat. Unfortunately, the “Arch” crumbled in 2004, but don’t worry, the views are still among the best coastal vistas on the planet! We stayed in room 7. I’m sure that all of the rooms have spectacular views, but unless you’re staying in one of their new Suites, ask for room 7. It has the best views. I actually couldn’t believe it when we walked in. We’ve stayed in lots of hotels with great views, but this one is something special. If you’re traveling with family or friends, try out the Suites. They are newly remodeled. Beautiful! And of course, the views are to die for. Aside from the views, it’s a charming hotel in a charming little Oregon coastal town. You can’t go wrong here! Checkin / out: The staff are wonderful! Friendly, welcoming, helpful, and very accommodating. Checkin and checkout were easy and quick. Décor: Depending on which room you stay in, you’ll either have nice (if a bit dated) decor with comfortable furniture, or if you stay in their recently updated Suites, you’ll have wonderfully updated rooms with modern décor, tastefully decorated and the best of everything. Nearby: The little town of Depoe Bay is within easy walking distance (about 1 mile roundtrip.) You’ll find a variety of restaurants, touristy gift shops, all the salt water taffy you’d ever care to eat, boating excursions, and of course, some of the most amazing ocean views anywhere.

Great staff and wonderful views. very accommodating with breakfast for the kids. sweet little gift bags for kids to see smiles. so nice!
