What an amazing service I’ve received from this hotel. They were able to upgrade my room to the one with balcony in the main building from the Lake House without any problems. Beautiful amenities and friendly and accommodating staffs. What else can you ask for? I would definitely recommend this hotel for the family!!

Our family stayed at Lake House for 3 nights. The check-in experience was quick and smooth. The check-in manager even advised us to use the waterfront area of the hotel to view July 4 fireworks which was great. Lake House property is part of High Peaks resort and is a bit neglected compared to the main resort building. The lounge area of Lake House was mostly deserted, the bar area was unmanned most of the time and the floor was not cleaned. I’m surprised that the guests living in Lake House would make such a mess dropping their finished plastic water bottles, disposable glasses, candy wrappers on the floor. There was no vacuuming done as far as I can remember, the coffee pot was filled in the morning but never re-filled. The main resort building had better services for guests including refreshments served twice during day time. The rooms in Lake House were clean and room service was great. However, I’d recommend people to skip staying at Lake House and instead book the main resort hotel for their stay. The waterfront property was fabulous and so was the outdoor swimming pool. Guests are allowed to use kayaks and paddle boats on a first come first serve basis which was awesome.

While the staff was fabulous, for a resort of this caliber, we were disappointed with the lack of activities in the game room especially in the winter. Typically resorts have a library of games and puzzles and books to read. They can easily start a free library, buy a collection from a thrift store, etc. Maybe have a milk and cookie time, something cute and simple for the kids.

This is a no-frills sister hotel to the High Peaks. I was hoping for more High Peaks quality, though. The tub was dirty and old and the pool area really needs some work. All in all, the kids had fun and it was the price we needed for an overnight hockey tournament stay.

The location of the property is fantastic. The room was small and not very clean as far as the bathroom. There was no microwave in the room so all the food we brought for evenings was useless. The biggest problem was the amenities. The water sports are the reason we stayed but they were only available from 9:30am- 5:30 being last trip out on one.It is light out until 9 so don’t understand why watersports end so early. And why they don’t open at 7 or 8 if you can’t go out on them in the evening. Pool table couldn’t be used in the evangelist because the balls were stuck and they only lit the outdoor fire 1 night we were there. So, there is nothing to do evenings on the prperty for families but sit in your room and it was not a nice looking room at all.

The hotel is still short staffed post-COVID (per check in statements to us) and the staff on hand ranged from friendly to rude. My friend had a bike accident so we needed a late check-out and even offered to pay for an extra night, but they insisted we leave to the point of calling the room and being very rude. It seemed to be hotel cleaning staff that had an issue with us being late, as the parking lots and hotel were empty so there clearly were not other guests coming in. Really unfortunate that they couldn't be polite and more considerate, particularly given the bike accident. I am sure the hotel management would want their family treated better under similar circumstances.
