I booked this hotel for my bday and the hotel upgraded me to a junior suite. Room was spacious and nice . But could have been a little more cleaner for it to be luxurious hotel. It looked a little dusty. Parking is included in the hotel fee. But getting to parking is a little tricky. The rooftop was beautiful and the food for dinner was really good . My favorite part of the hotel was the double shower for the junior suite is amazing !

Staff was super helpful and kind. Hotel was incredibly clean and well-kept. Great location as well. Went here with my family of 4 (including a 5 and 7 year old) and would definitely recommend.

This hotel looks really good on the surface, but there are subtle details that are clear misses, such as, the accent chair in the room is made for a child's height, the fridge sits out exposed like a college dorm, and there is no glassware in the room (only cheap plastic cups). Even the furniture in the hotel bar is uncomfortable. Again, there is much about this hotel that looks good as it clean and sleak, but there are some definite design and functionality issues that you typically do not associate with a 5-star hotel and 5-star hotel prices.

Staff was well trained and responsive. Been 3 years since our last stay. One of my picky family favorite hotels. My oldest son visited and was a little jealous he didn't book out hotel, rather than his suite at another hotel. Curved, lightly scented hallways are cool too.

This is such a lovely hotel right in the heart of Kansas City. I stay here whenever I visit family in the area, and it's a lovely little oasis to come "home" to.

Very disappointed by how restrictive the use of the pool area was. Pictures show beautiful cabana areas but when you get there they are only for reservations and you can’t use them even if no one has been there for hours. Not conducive at all to lounging around with friends or family if more than a handful of people are there.

We loved staying at The Fontaine with our kiddos--who really enjoyed the outdoor pool. There are a few simple amenity additions that could make the stay better, like a laundry bag in the room, water glasses in the room, more than two pillows on the beds, and room service (since there is a restaurant downstairs).

We just returned from a family vacation that included many hotel stays in both South Dakota and Missouri. I wish all of our lodgings had been like The Fontaine. The hotel's decor is beautiful and peaceful. The staff we interacted with -- every single one from the desk receptionist to the barista to our server in the bar -- was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough good things about them or thank them enough! Our room was crisp and clean and included all the amenities and then some. I've stayed at many hotels on the Plaza; none compare to The Fontaine. This gem is now my go to whenever I visit Kansas City. Thank you again, Fontaine staff, for your smiles and your warm welcome!

I called ahead to alert of a late check in. The gal said we would get a free bottle of wine. When we arrived at 11pm, they did not have it at the desk and the girl working the desk could not get it for us. We agreed to pick it up in the morning, but I told her we would be checking out early around 8am. We woke up to the sounds of construction in the building before 7:30am!! At first it sounded like gun fire. I kid you not. But given it persisted for over an hour off and on, it was apparently construction. We got down to the front desk just after 8am. Found no one there. Waited a good 7 minutes before the desk clerk came back. We told her we were checking out and wanted to collect the bottle of wine. They still didn’t have it at the desk, she called a colleague. Said they would bring it right up. We waited 20 minutes!!!! No wine. We left. We will not stay here again. They don’t get how to provide VIP service.

We live in Kansas City but at least once a year we come stay at the Plaza to wat drink and shop without our kids. We like this hotel bc it is clean quiet and convenient. No complaints!
