We were visiting family at Mayo and this was a perfect location to be able to walk from. Good dining options within walking distance. Breakfast was good also.

Check in horrible. Waiting and waiting. Loud people everywhere. Room was dirty. Dust hanging from vents and corners were dirty. Carpet was just disgusting. Furniture beat up and outlets didnt work. Breakfast bar was a disaster with kids and loud people running into others and leaving no food for others and running infront and into me with hot coffee. Overpriced for such a mess! Not at all what i expected. Another person and i just shook our heads at this situation. Complete disappointment.

One-night stay with the family; kids were excited about using the swimming pool, but pool and spa were out of order. Outlets, light bulbs, and chairs in the room were broken. Stain on the pull-out bed. Would not stay here again, definitely not worth the price we paid.

Everything about this hotel we loved. The people were amazing, the rooms were clean, the breakfast area had lots of options, even the fresh water at the check in was nice and the location allowed our family members to walk back and forth to the Mayo Clinic. Lots of great places to eat within in a 3-5 minute walk. Yogurt, pizza, BBQ sandwiches and mexican. Very safe area as well.

The hotel changed our room configuration- from 2 queen beds to a single king, saying they don't honor reservations that aren't made through their website. The hotel is tiny, no restaurant or lounge, yet commands a price of a Holiday Inn Crown Plaza- clearly, they are taking advantage of families with sick loved ones at Mayo. The staff didn't go out of their way to place the 2 families travelling together on the same floor- I was on the 4th floor, the rest of my family was on the 2nd floor.I recommend staying at the Kahler Inn- MUCH better value, although it's further away from Mayo St..Marys

We were very disappointed in this stay. First, we had specifically picked this hotel because it allowed dogs and had a pool. After we checked in we were told the pool was inoperable. We had planned to let our kids swim quite a bit and asked if we could cancel or reservation. They would only let us out of the second night. The staff were not very accommodating at all. Second, I requested some extra blankets as we were using the pull out bed. There weren’t any in the room. They would only let us have one extra blanket and we had to go to the front desk to get it. Thirdly, the breakfast the first day was cold and there were no microwaves in the breakfast room to heat it up but they did try to adjust the temps when told about the issue. Additionally, the road noise around the hotel was very loud. It is close to the hospital so we could here ambulances all night. Finally, the beds were as hard as a rock. Overall, not the level of service or comfort of the hotel is not what we expected from a Holiday Inn Express.

Room was very comfortable. Pool was overcrowded and hot tub did not work. Seemed odd to have to place paper in car to park or risk towing, in what felt like an easily free surface lot. Was a bit off putting to be told to sign a document warning groups/teams what not to do- we weren’t with a group but were told since my kids looked like athletes they needed to sign. Had no issues with what we were asked to follow but it didn’t feel very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, and we loved the water available in the lobby.

What I liked about this place was to free breakfast, shuttle to the hospital, and it’s walking distance to the hospital. What I didn’t like was the bad service of employees, over charging, and the payment are to high for people with families in the hospital. The rooms are to small.
