Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown at The Depot by Marriott

A hotel room with a kitchen in it was the most awesome way to travel with kids, I don’t think I want to do it different anymore, everyone super nice and helpful

First and foremost we didn’t get to stay because I swiped my card and although the funds looked to have been removed from my account apparently were not removed from my card because the hotel manager said they didn’t take my card type. So on my sons birthday we were not able to get the reserved room nor were we able to get a refund and I’m out of $230.00. Now my card is going to be suspended. Plus this ruined our weekend plans I’ma single month just out of hard earned money and my kids Birthday was horrible because I was broke after that!

Our family of four stayed for a week. We liked the kitchenette and the parking. The breakfast was good and the gym was excellent. The location near the river was good but the neighborhood can be noisy. We were awakened by a repetitive car alarm multiple nights and in some cases several times in the same night. Bring your earplugs. Otherwise, this was a great stay.

Our 5 day stay was to both visit our daughter and to check out hotels near her upcoming wedding venue. Great location. Plenty of space in the rooms themselves. Within easy walking distance to the Stone Arch Bridge, trails, museums and downtown. The indoor waterpark a plus for those with children. Included breakfast was more than adequate. Can be a bit busy at an earlier time but once the Business Travelers are in their way, lots of room. Unable to check out the two bed two bath rooms since all were occupied at the time but that would be a plus for larger families.

The 2 bedroom rooms with kitchens is the ONLY way to go with toddlers/babies whatever. There is enough space for everyone, Thomas the Train tracks layout across the living room, sleeping schedules with 2 bedrooms, one suite (sweet!) Residence Inn room. The waterpark was really fun for the kids as well.

Would stay there again without a doubt! Everything from the front desk to the room was wonderful! The waterpark was a plus for the kids.

Minuses: One of our room keys didn't work. The blow dryer in one of the bathrooms pooped out (the plus here is that a replacement was installed within hours and a substitute blow dryer was delivered within 15 minutes). The bathroom towels were old and scratchy and some of them had large red stains on them. Yuck! When we went to play pool downstairs, some of the pool cues were broken and the staff was unaware of this when I took them to the front desk. The storage units for the pool cues had broken or missing brackets so the remaining usable pool cues did not stand up properly when put away. One day, housekeeping came to the door and was told we would be leaving in 10 minutes, but they never came back. Plusses: Breakfast food was plentiful. There was a great variety and it was stocked right up to the closing hour. The front desk personnel were extremely responsive and helpful. It was nice to have a restaurant, bar and workout room in the neighboring hotel and the ice skating rink was a nice treat for our California family. Walking distance to downtown, Lunds grocery store is a few blocks away across the river, and we were close to the university and freeways.
