We had an amazing time with our family. The pool area was perfect. The outside beach area was very nice and clean and very relaxing to spend time with the family. The river next to the lake was really nice, bring a fishing pole.

We booked here for easy and quick access to play on the beach (right outside and around the back of the hotel) and hike in the Porkies (the road dead-ends at Lake of the Clouds). We had a king bed and jacuzzi to entertain our toddler, a room with a view so we could enjoy times we needed to stay in due to bedtime or quiet time, and we did go to the pool and hot tub. The pool was surprisingly cold. In our wetsuits, we were able to play on the beach along Superior across the Big Iron River by the boat launch. That felt warmer than the pool, even in early July! We made use of the beach outside the hotel and built sand castles, read on the benches by the fire pits, and watched the sun begin to set. Unfortunately, smokers were everywhere. If I used the elevator, I had to inhale a smoker’s exhale; if I used the stairwell, same thing; the moment I stepped outside there were often smokers; and worst of all, smokers on the beach. It really detracted from my ability to enjoy fresh air and nature when I was concerned about secondhand smoke inhalation making my child and me cough. We checked out a night earlier than planned due to the smokers.

The staff was very friendly. The location was perfect and why we chose to stay there. Breakfast was average but clean and well stocked. Overall appearance was a little older and could have used updates but everything was very clean. Our family would stay here again.

Friendly staff, nice pool, hot tub and sauna and very quiet and family friendly. We often stay here often over many years and love it. Great location, very clean, comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Only negative was that the beds only had a sheet and a VERY thin scratchy blanket- would have liked an actual comforter, especially given winter. Attached bar was clean, very reasonably priced drinks and the bartender was very friendly. Breakfast hours were great- average continental breakfast. Cute little gift shop.

Hotel was great, however the service at the restaurant was absolutely terrible. They forgot our order and we waited over an hour and a half just for 4 entrees. We had 3 kids and by the time the waitress noticed we had been there awhile it was time for them to go to bed. We ended up asking for it to go and it took forever for them to bag it up and get it out to us. We asked for a discount due to our wait, and the waitress told us there was nothing she could do. Was not impressed! Food wasn’t even that good and way overpriced.

The hotel has fire pits and seating right behind the property that are on a small beach right on Lake Superior. Perfect for watching the sunset! Can be enjoyed by couples and families! Good location for visiting the Porcupine Mountains.

We enjoyed our stay. We stayed only one night and it was a Saturday to Sunday overnight. The beach was lovely. Beautiful view of the lake!
The colors in the rooms could have been better. I did not like the garish orange.
We did not eat at the restaurant but we did have a few beverages in the bar. There were several televisions on and pool tables.
The bartender was very nice and we received very good service.
The employee who was in housekeeping as we were leaving on Sunday was very polite and asked how our stay was. This was a sign of very friendly hospitality.
The breakfast was also very good and so was the coffee!
We did not use the pool at all but a lot of people seemed to enjoy it, especially the children staying there! The front desk kept the pool towels well stocked, I noticed.
Check-in and check-out was easy and quick.
We would definitely return.

My family of 4 stayed at this beautiful hotel ,scenary is breathtaking and peaceful, hotel staff is amazing and very friendly and informative and my family had a great time til it was ruined by a very rude person. My 2 kids, husband and I along with a few other hotel guests were trying to enjoy a fire while watching the sunset. Hotel staff said wood under blue tarp was free to hotel guests and to help ourselves yet when we did we got verbally attacked by a very rude lady named who was not nice, very rude, swearing around my young children as well as others children and was yelling and screaming at all of us causing a huge scene yelling and screaming about how we cant use that wood an that she supposedly talked to yhe manager and she purchased all the wood. (We stayed here a few times and the wood was always free under the blue tarp)Yet myself and other guests talked to who was working front desk an they had no clue of any such thing... so our night got ruined. I feel if she truly did buy all that wood maybe make a sign next time or make all guest aware we need yo bring our own wood because there are greedy selfish people that need enough wood for 5 days of non stop fires!
