This stay was not as nice as I had hoped. We traveled with our two young kids at the end of August. The biggest issue was that the outdoor pools do not have a shallow area or baby pool for kids to safely stand. There is a ledge around the edge of the 4 ft deep big pool where kids can stand, but an adult needs to basically hold them at all times. This would be okay (not ideal), but the water was a little cold to stand chest deep for long periods of time to hold them back from falling all the way in. The water was too cold to want to go down the waterslide. This made the whole point of the hotel with children not very relaxing.
The hotel also felt understaffed in all areas. For example, at checkin, we waited in a line with four other parties in front of us. The hot tub had at least a dozen empty cups around the edge, making even finding a place to sit feel a little dirty. The Blue Point restaurant was also noticeably understaffed. The reception desk only picked up once over three attempts to call with separate requests.
Lastly, I booked a room with breakfast included. At the restaurant, I was handed an a la cart menu and asked the server to clarify what I had already paid for upon booking. His response was “I have no idea what you booked.”
The experience made me choose to not book a Hyatt for another upcoming stay. I am sad to write this review, but for the cost of this hotel and the Hyatt name, I expected a little more.
The s’mores at the fire, though, were lovely.

The property and views were amazing. The customer service was just ok.
Upon arrival, no bell hop or self service carts were available for our Mid-Week Check In.
The king sized mattress was uncomfortable, but the under the bed motion sensor lighting was a nice addition in the dark.
The sound proofing was terrible. One morning I was woken by crying children in the hallway before 8am. Then the next morning to the sound of the words "Housekeeping" yelled repeatedly every 30 seconds as they worked their way down the hallway. So, I was unable to sleep past 8am either morning.
Housekeeping missed a few things when cleaning - leftovers in the mini-fridge, holes in the throw blankets, forgotten pillowcase, and housekeeping changed the thermostat to 59 degrees when they cleaned the room.
Internet service was disruptive. I could not load the internet. The Concierge suggested I turn my phone off, then on again, which did not solve the issue. I couldn't log in to check in on work or enter my Fantasy Football Draft for the length of my stay.
Overall, the pool, river view, and property itself were beautiful. But the above listed items didn't make for the best experience for the cost.

Nice options for kids, plenty of space to run and play, many pools and restaurants well placed. The room was good, but very noisy (air conditioning I think). The restaurants are good but not many food options considering that you don’t have a freezer or microwave in the room.
The beach was underwhelming (to small and rocky, but Paddles and boats available for renting.

The most pet friendly hotel I’ve ever been too. Beyond accommodating! An absolute blast from start to finish for kids. A plethora of options for them! The room was super clean and the comforts of beds. Will 100 percent go back!!

It was a well deserved overnight for us. So we saw pictures and it looked perfect for a relaxing day. The pool was overcrowded with hundreds of children as though it was a camp pool. No chaise’s or chairs were available. No pool side drink and/or food service. We waited on line for 30 minutes for a drink and a bag of chips. Only thing good about the hotel was the room, it was clean very comfortable. We were there on a Tuesday in June and paid $300 for the night. I expected much more from a Hyatt Resort Hotel. Never again!!

Staying at the Hyat Regency in Cambridge, MD is always what we expect it to be. A relaxing getaway that is still close to home. The environment is calming and the staff are excellent at providing service and courtesy. This is a family friendly place, so expect to wave and smile at todlers and see awkward teens as they engage in family activities. The rooms are very nice. This is a place to either relax and spend time to yourself or focus on and enjoy your family. It would be even that much more amazing if I actually knew how to play golf....

Everything was as expected. From the time of check-in to checkout, the experience was outstanding. There are plenty of activities for the little ones, and there are several stores and restaurants in driving distance. I was surprised at what was available during the winter, and I want to see what is available during the warmer months. I highly recommend Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay for an outstanding family friendly experience!
