The property had a beautiful lobby and the pool was warm. It was easily walkable to marginal way, downtown and the beach. Beautiful spot! Great for families!

Old world charm would best describe this hotel. I chose it mostly for its proximity to Marginal Way, but would choose it again for so many reasons. When we checked it, someone was playing the baby grand piano in the lobby & warm cookies were waiting for us. Our room was spotless & beautifully decorated. We were given suggestions for dining. The heart of downtown & shopping were within easy walking distance. It’s nice places like this still exist & take you back to a time of class & elegance far removed from the hotel chains that dominate so many resort destinations. Without asking, we were told we could leave our car several hours after checkout if we planned to continue to explore the area. Experiences like this property provide are few. Hoping to return & stay longer.

We are vacationing as a family of 5, “touring” Maine and chose this location due to convenience - close to Nubble light, Marginal Way/Perkins Cove, Barnacle Billy’s, and even Kennebunkport. We were able to stay parked at the hotel while walking to Marginal Way. We actually made a loop of sorts.
The hotel is more nostalgic in decor - some may say dated, but it was more like vintage maritime. We weren’t there for the aesthetics. The staff was very friendly, especially the maintenance man. He walked thru the dining area every morning greeting “Good morning, guests!”.
Breakfast was great in our opinion - healthy options, quick grab and go stuff. Great brands too. Check in and out seamless. We would definitely stay again.

It’s very close to everything: the Marginal way walk, the beach, the store and restaurants.
It’s also family friendly; my daughter loved the swimming pool and the hot tub. The staff are extremely friendly and the cleaning lady was professional and kind.
The one thing they need to replace is the small white table In the room, because it has weird sticky surface.

Had a weekend getaway with hubby and 1 year old. The Inn was was very clean and charming and all of the staff and guests we interacted with were very friendly and kind. They had daily breakfast which was great. It’s in a perfect area, easy walkability, close to downtown for shopping and dining and easy to get to the beach and marginal way. We walked everywhere and didn’t need the car to get around. The heated pool and hot tub were also very clean and a plus for both parents and baby. The area is also very kid friendly. I must say Ogunquit beach was the best as it has little tide pool for the baby and the sand is dense which makes it easy to walk in and they had ramps leading to the beach which was a nice touch. Will definitely return again!

We spent 2 nights at the Colonial Inn and were overall very pleased. The Inn is very-well taken care and it shows. The property is impeccably clean. Someone always seemed to be doing some sort of maintenance on the grounds.
The staff were pleasant and approachable. The front desk personnel were always smiling and offering assistance to improve our stay.
The 2 queen room was ample-sized for myself and my family and the beds were comfortable.
The continental breakfast was by far the best *free breakfast I’ve ever had; fresh fruit, local muffins, hard boiled eggs, juices, coffee, breads.
Last, the location was ideal. Within 8 mins walk to Ogunquit beach and Marginal Way through some beautiful flower-lined little streets, and 10 minute walk to Main Street shops in town.
We are looking forward to returning next Summer.

Unfortunately we have family that have stayed and it was good. The reason I chose this hotel. However upon arrival they didnt have my reservation. Then the staff member checking us in stopped checking us in and took another family to check them in. I left that alone and didnt comment even though I had to wait 25 minutes. When we got to our room it was hot and stuffy. We attwmpted to turn the ac on but it didnt work. We called the front drsk several times with no answer. The sink in the bathroom had no hot water and the shower head was broken. Breakfast was complimentary which is a great option however the bagels and croissants were stale. When I checked out i told them about this and the front desk staff was apologetic but she was texting while i told her. The maintenance man was very sweet and apologized. The staff member said i hope you come again and i said probably not. She just shrugged. So not a good experience overall.
