Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park

Peaceful area with great amenities when visiting with family. Did not realize lodge doesn't come with microwave or mini refrigerator definitely would look into cottage next time or bring cooler. The area doesn't have lots of food options so bring your own food is a must unless you're going to eat at lodge restaurant every day. Amazing trip with my sister will be back next year.

The weekend was beautiful. Very relaxing. We enjoyed the view from the room and slept well. We were not happy with the food. All state park food has not been good since Covid. The buffet has always been a family favorite but not this time. Staff was pleasant and eager to make our stay pleasant.

The resort was clean staff was friendly. Dining area was very clean meals very affordable. Typical motel free breakfast. It would have been nice if they had mini refrigerator i room but i brought a cooler and free ice is available. Pool area very nice separate area for small children.

This was a perfect retreat during our roadtrip to get away from cities and roads. We already had a good experience with Kentucky parks, and this just confirmed our view. For what you get out of the stay it was not that expensive. There is a small pool with sunchairs, which were at most half occupied. A few minutes walk from the lodges you had a lake with a beach area. There were a lot of families here during the day, but a bit calmer towards the evening. The lodges had a beautiful view of the lake, and balconies where we spent the evenings. Would definitely recommend staying here!

What a gem!! The grounds are beautiful! The people were so kind and friendly. Lots to do, great place for families.

Comfy bed, great location, beautiful view! Only complaints are that while the room was “reserved” we almost didn’t get a room because they are “first come first serve” and we arrived around 8pm. Plan to get there early to guarantee your reservation. Also, there was no refrigerator so it wasn’t infant friendly.
